📋 Description

• Join a global community of freelance linguists contributing to Lilt’s mission of making the world’s information accessible across languages through AI-powered, human-verified translation services—your expertise in Hindi to French (France) subtitling directly enables enterprises, governments, and AI developers to communicate effectively in multilingual contexts.
• As a freelance Hindi > French (France) linguist specializing in subtitling, you will translate and adapt audiovisual content with precision, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and technical compliance with industry-standard subtitle formats, timing constraints, and character limits while maintaining the original tone, intent, and style of source material.
• You will work remotely on diverse, project-based assignments using Lilt’s proprietary neural machine translation (NMT) platform, leveraging AI-assisted suggestions to increase efficiency while applying your human expertise to review, edit, and refine output for quality, consistency, and client-specific terminology.
• Your daily responsibilities include analyzing source Hindi video content, applying subtitling best practices (such as line breaking, reading speed, and synchronization), adhering to client glossaries and style guides, conducting self-reviews for accuracy and fluency, and submitting completed work through Lilt’s secure translator portal with attention to deadlines and quality benchmarks.
• You will collaborate asynchronously with Lilt’s Talent & Community team and project managers, receiving feedback on deliveries, participating in optional training sessions, and continuously improving your skills through exposure to varied content domains including media, entertainment, corporate training, and e-learning.
• Lilt fosters a supportive, inclusive global network of linguists where your contributions are valued—not just as a translator, but as a key enabler of cross-cultural understanding and AI advancement—offering autonomy, professional growth, and the satisfaction of knowing your work helps break language barriers worldwide.

🎯 Requirements

• Native proficiency in French (France) with native-level fluency in Hindi, verified through professional experience or formal assessment
• Minimum of 2 years of professional translation experience, specifically in Hindi > French (France) subtitling for audiovisual content
• Proven ability to follow complex terminology, reference materials, and client-specific style guides with high precision and consistency
