Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Serve as the first point of contact for all people-related questions across a fast-growing, fully-remote investment firm that backs breakthrough industrial, clean-tech, and life-science companies poised to transform global markets.
  • • Own the full employee lifecycle—from crafting inclusive job descriptions and sourcing diverse talent pipelines to orchestrating seamless onboarding, performance management, and off-boarding—ensuring every touch-point reflects Anzu’s culture of curiosity, rigor, and shared success.
  • • Build and continuously refine scalable HR systems and processes (HRIS, ATS, document repositories, compliance trackers) that allow a lean team to support portfolio companies and internal staff spread across multiple time zones and jurisdictions.
  • • Partner directly with investment partners and founders to translate high-growth business roadmaps into head-count plans, compensation bands, and leadership-development programs that attract world-class scientists, engineers, and operators.
  • • Design and deliver remote-first engagement initiatives—monthly all-hands, virtual coffee chats, recognition programs, and learning circles—that keep culture vibrant and knowledge flowing despite physical distance.
  • • Administer competitive, data-driven compensation and benefits programs; benchmark against venture-capital and deep-tech peers twice yearly and present actionable insights to the Executive Committee.
  • • Ensure airtight compliance with federal, state, and international employment regulations (US, EU, APAC) and shepherd annual audits, EEO-1 filings, 401(k) discrimination testing, and state registrations for new remote hires.
  • • Curate and deliver learning content on leadership, DEI, and functional excellence; source external facilitators, negotiate contracts, and measure ROI to guarantee every training dollar advances strategic goals.
  • • Act as a trusted coach to managers on sensitive issues—performance gaps, conflict resolution, accommodations, and terminations—balancing empathy with fiduciary responsibility to the firm and its investors.
  • • Produce crisp, board-ready HR dashboards that translate people metrics (turnover, engagement, diversity, time-to-fill) into narratives that inform investment diligence and portfolio support priorities.
  • • Spearhead ad-hoc projects such as implementing a global mobility policy for portfolio executives, launching an internship pipeline with top research universities, or piloting a sabbatical program for long-tenured employees.
  • • Champion Anzu’s ESG commitments by embedding sustainability and social-impact goals into employee goal-setting, vendor selection, and annual reporting.
  • • Collaborate with Marketing & IR teams to showcase Anzu’s employer brand at industry conferences, podcasts, and university forums, positioning the firm as the destination for mission-driven talent.
  • • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion when handling cap-table-related compensation data, investor correspondence, and proprietary diligence materials.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 2–4 years of progressive HR experience in venture capital, private equity, high-growth tech, or professional-services environments; exposure to portfolio support is a strong plus.
  • • Demonstrated fluency with modern HRIS (Rippling, Gusto, BambooHR, or similar) and applicant-tracking systems (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby); advanced Excel and Google-Sheets skills for compensation modeling.
  • • Working knowledge of multi-state and international employment law, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, GDPR, and emerging remote-work regulations.
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field; PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification preferred.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote, results-only work environment with flexible hours and quarterly off-site retreats in inspiring locations.
  • • Competitive base salary plus performance bonus tied to fund carry and portfolio company outcomes.
  • • 100 % employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and 75 % for dependents; annual mental-health stipend.
  • • 20 days PTO, 10 firm-wide holidays, and a one-month paid sabbatical after four years of service.
