  • • As an HR Business Partner for the EPDD organization (Engineering, Product, Design, and Data), you will serve as a trusted strategic partner to technical leaders, driving people strategy and operational excellence in a fast-moving, innovative environment.
  • • You will coach managers through performance conversations, manage complex employee relations cases, support end-to-end performance management cycles, and provide proactive guidance on employee lifecycle moments.
  • • You will partner with leadership to use data for organizational health insights, anticipate friction, and support scaling efforts while ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S. employment laws.
  • • You will own leave management across Canada and the U.S., support Canadian immigration processes, and act as a subject matter expert on employment law and market practices.
  • • You will leverage AI to automate workflows, improve efficiency, and build solutions that enhance HR operations.
  • • You will work in a hybrid model with required in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Toronto, collaborating with a bold, empathetic team focused on empowering small businesses.
  • • You will contribute to a culture of ownership, learning, and winning together, guided by Homebase’s core values of customer obsession, speed, impact, craftsmanship, and collaboration.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 4–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 1 year in a true HRBP role focused on business partnership, not administrative or systems work.
  • • Direct experience supporting engineering, product, design, or data (EPDD/R&D) teams, where technical leaders came to you as a trusted advisor.
  • • Proven experience managing leave programs and Canadian immigration cases, with deep knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment law.
  • • Demonstrated ability to use data and insights to influence decisions, coach leaders, and anticipate organizational needs.
  • • Genuine AI fluency — experience building or improving HR workflows with AI tools, measuring impact, and seeking further innovation.
  • • HRIS experience, with Rippling preferred.
