Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Shape the future of sustainable mobility: As an HR Intern at Hitachi Rail GTS in Singapore, you will sit at the intersection of cutting-edge rail technology and world-class people strategy, directly influencing how billions of passengers reach their destinations safely every year.
- • Own the talent pipeline: You will proactively research universities, polytechnics, professional associations, and online communities to build and continuously refresh a living database of high-potential candidates for both internship and graduate roles across engineering, project management, signalling, and digital disciplines.
- • Bring our employer brand to life: Plan, coordinate, and execute on-campus career fairs, tech-talks, and networking nights; design eye-catching booths, swag, and digital campaigns that tell the Hitachi Rail story and position us as the employer of choice for mission-driven innovators.
- • Curate unforgettable intern experiences: From welcome kits and buddy programmes to hackathons and lunch-and-learns with senior leaders, you will design every touchpoint that turns a 6-month placement into a lifelong brand advocacy journey.
- • Measure, learn, and iterate: At the conclusion of each internship cycle you will craft end-of-programme surveys, facilitate focus groups, crunch quantitative and qualitative data, and present actionable insights that refine recruitment, onboarding, and development processes for the next cohort.
- • Keep the alumni flame alive: Build a CRM-style engagement plan—newsletters, LinkedIn groups, referral challenges, and reunion events—that nurtures former interns and converts them into future full-time hires or brand ambassadors.
- • Champion internal mobility: Develop vibrant posters, intranet banners, and short-form videos that spotlight internal job openings, cross-functional projects, and international secondments, driving a culture where talent grows within Hitachi Rail rather than outside it.
- • Deliver friction-free HR operations: Support the full employee lifecycle by initiating onboarding workflows (contracts, IT accounts, induction schedules) and offboarding formalities (exit interviews, knowledge-transfer checklists), ensuring 100 % compliance and a warm, human touch.
- • Own the probation & confirmation journey: Track milestone dates, prepare documentation packs for managers, schedule review meetings, and follow up on outcomes so every new hire feels seen and set up for success.
- • Drive process excellence: Map current workflows, identify pain points, and co-design leaner, digital-first solutions—whether it’s an automated report that slashes preparation time from days to minutes or a chatbot that answers common HR queries 24/7.
- • Become a data storyteller: When leadership asks for headcount forecasts, diversity dashboards, or cost-per-hire metrics, you will gather raw data from Workday and Excel, transform it into visually compelling charts, and translate numbers into narratives that guide strategic decisions.
- • Be the first port of call: Respond to employee questions on leave balances, benefits, or policy clarifications via email, chat, or in person, embodying the helpful, inclusive spirit that defines Hitachi Rail’s culture.
- • Experiment and grow: Whether it’s piloting a TikTok recruitment channel, testing an AI screening tool, or co-authoring a white paper on Gen-Z workplace expectations, you’ll have space to pilot bold ideas and add tangible innovations to your portfolio.
- • Collaborate without borders: Work daily with colleagues in Singapore, Japan, Europe, and the Americas through Microsoft Teams, Miro boards, and shared OKRs, experiencing first-hand how a truly global organisation aligns around purpose and performance.
- • Leave a legacy: By the end of your 6-month internship you will have built assets—playbooks, dashboards, videos, and communities—that continue to deliver value long after you transition to the next stage of your career, with many interns returning as full-time Hitachi Rail trailblazers.
