📋 Description

  • As the HR People Operations APAC at Mistral AI, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing our human resources strategy across the Asia-Pacific region. This pivotal role demands a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, ensuring our people operations are robust, compliant, and supportive of our rapid growth. You will be the go-to expert for all things HR in APAC, driving excellence in employee experience, operational efficiency, and legal adherence.
  • In the realm of Admin & HR Compliance, you will be the first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing prompt, accurate, and empathetic responses that uphold Mistral AI's commitment to its people. A critical aspect of your role will involve managing the intricate process of visa coordination for new hires and for existing team members undertaking international business travel, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance with all immigration regulations. You will also spearhead HR projects, collaborating closely with external vendors to procure and deliver best-in-class services that enhance the employee experience. A foundational understanding of relevant employment laws across the APAC region is essential to ensure legal compliance and proactively mitigate company risks, safeguarding both the organization and its employees.
  • Your responsibilities in Onboarding will focus on creating an exceptional experience for every new joiner. This includes ensuring they receive all necessary information regarding our HR systems, office protocols, and team dynamics. You will meticulously formalize contractual elements throughout the employee lifecycle, from initial employment contracts and amendments to issuing necessary certificates, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Maintaining and updating our HR information systems with precision and timeliness will be a core function, ensuring our employee data is always current and reliable.
  • For Payroll, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and processing of payroll for all employees within the APAC region. A key requirement will be mastering the complexities of managing payroll for employees under Employer of Record (EoR) arrangements, ensuring compliance and efficiency. You will also be tasked with leading initiatives to optimize payroll processes, exploring opportunities for automation, conducting provider benchmarks, and implementing best practices to enhance accuracy and reduce administrative burden.
  • In HR Project Management, you will play a crucial role in our expansion efforts by leading the HR aspects of opening new countries within the APAC region. This involves establishing and administering employee benefits programs tailored to local market conditions and legal requirements. You will be empowered to explore, implement, and refine people-related projects, procedures, and best practices that not only align with Mistral AI's core values but also actively foster a positive and inclusive company culture. A continuous drive for Process Optimization will be paramount, where you will be expected to consistently improve, document, and streamline HR processes to boost efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness across all HR functions.
  • This role is for a proactive and hands-on individual with a builder's mindset, eager to contribute to a fast-paced, innovative environment. You will be a key player in scaling our HR infrastructure to support Mistral AI's ambitious growth trajectory in the APAC region, ensuring our people operations are a strategic advantage.

🎯 Requirements

  • 8-15 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong preference for experience in a startup or high-growth technology environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Singaporean employment law and HR policies, coupled with a solid understanding of employment regulations and HR best practices across multiple APAC countries (e.g., South Korea, Australia, India, Japan).
  • Proven experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Thorough understanding of local, national, and international payroll regulations and tax laws, with specific experience in managing Employer of Record (EoR) payroll.
  • Proficiency in HR technology solutions, including HRIS and payroll systems, with a demonstrated ability to leverage technology for process optimization and efficiency.
