đź“‹ Description
- • As an In-House Litigation Attorney at CSAA Insurance Group, a leading AAA insurer, you will play a pivotal role in managing a comprehensive caseload of complex litigated and non-litigated files. This position offers a unique opportunity to operate with significant autonomy, handling matters that include conducting two to three trials annually, managing discovery processes, and participating in arbitration and mediation proceedings with minimal direct supervision. You will also serve as a valuable mentor and resource for less experienced attorneys within the team, sharing your expertise and guiding their professional development.
- • Your core responsibilities will involve applying independent legal analysis and sound judgment to prepare all necessary legal documentation. This includes drafting and filing legal pleadings, crafting persuasive motions, preparing statements, and developing comprehensive trial briefs. Close coordination and input from claims specialists will be essential to ensure alignment and effective case strategy.
- • A significant aspect of this role is the active advocacy on behalf of CSAA Insurance Group and its member insureds. You will represent the company and its policyholders in various legal forums, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.
- • You will be entrusted with conducting all phases of personal injury litigation. This encompasses jury trials, arguing motions before the court, and presenting cases in arbitration hearings. Your ability to navigate these complex legal arenas will be crucial to successful outcomes.
- • This position is designed for an attorney who can independently manage and be responsible for the most complex and highest-value cases within the company's portfolio. This includes taking ownership of challenging legal matters that require a high degree of skill, strategic thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
- • Beyond active litigation, you will be responsible for handling complex legal matters and projects that may not be currently in litigation. This broadens the scope of your legal expertise and requires proactive identification and resolution of potential legal issues.
- • You will function as a key resource for assigned legal disciplines, providing expert advice and resolving major issues within your legal specialty area with considerable independence. This involves staying abreast of legal developments and best practices.
- • A critical function of this role is to anticipate and advise on potential legal issues that could significantly impact CSAA Insurance Group's operations, including its insurance and motor club business lines. This proactive advisory capacity is vital for risk mitigation and strategic planning.
- • The role demands a strong understanding of the tri-partite relationship between the insurer, the insured, and the defense attorney, ensuring ethical and effective representation.
- • You will be expected to travel as needed to effectively manage your caseload, attending depositions, mediations, mandatory settlement conferences, arbitrations, and trials. Occasional in-person team meetings and events are also part of the role, fostering collaboration and team cohesion.
- • This position offers a dynamic and challenging environment where you can leverage your extensive litigation experience to make a significant impact on the company's legal strategy and success. You will contribute to a collaborative and inclusive culture, working with a team dedicated to protecting the interests of CSAA members and the organization.
