  • • Serve as the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for UltraViolet Cyber, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards including NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, and FISMA requirements.
  • • Manage the accreditation and authorization process for information systems within the Federal Government and commercial client environments, including preparation of System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
  • • Conduct regular security control assessments and audits to validate implementation of technical and administrative safeguards across classified and unclassified systems.
  • • Collaborate with security engineers, system administrators, and compliance teams to integrate security controls into system development lifecycles and cloud infrastructure deployments.
  • • Monitor and report on security posture through continuous vulnerability scanning, configuration management, and patch validation processes.
  • • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all security artifacts, including security categorizations, control mappings, and authorization packages submitted to Authorizing Officials (AOs).
  • • Coordinate with internal and external auditors, including DOD, DHS, and other federal agencies, to facilitate security reviews and inspections.
  • • Provide guidance and training to personnel on security policies, incident reporting procedures, and secure handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • • Ensure adherence to the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework across applicable contracts and systems.
  • • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and government security authorities regarding security compliance, risk acceptance, and authorization decisions.
  • • Participate in incident response activities by documenting security events, coordinating containment efforts, and contributing to post-incident analysis and remediation plans.
  • • Stay current with evolving federal cybersecurity regulations, threat intelligence, and industry best practices to recommend proactive security enhancements.
  • • Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools including SIEM, endpoint detection and response (EDR), identity and access management (IAM), and encryption solutions.
  • • Review and approve security configurations for network devices, servers, and cloud platforms to ensure alignment with baseline security standards.
  • • Track and report metrics on security control effectiveness, compliance status, and remediation progress to leadership and client stakeholders.
  • • Ensure all systems handling Federal information are properly labeled, classified, and protected in accordance with applicable laws and directives.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
  • • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification
  • • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an ISSO or in federal cybersecurity compliance
  • • Demonstrated experience with NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, and FISMA
