📋 Description

• The Infrastructure Delivery & Operational Partner Lead – Stargate role is critical to OpenAI’s mission of building the world’s most advanced AI infrastructure ecosystem through the Stargate program, ensuring that massive next-generation datacenter campuses are delivered on time, reliably, and at scale to support cutting-edge AI compute workloads.
• This role serves as the strategic operational linchpin between OpenAI and its key infrastructure partners, driving end-to-end delivery from construction through operational readiness and enabling the seamless deployment of hyperscale AI infrastructure that powers frontier AI research and products.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include owning operational delivery for major Stargate infrastructure programs across partner-operated datacenter campuses, serving as OpenAI’s primary delivery interface with strategic infrastructure partners, and coordinating execution across construction, facilities, hardware deployment, and infrastructure operations teams to ensure alignment and timely progress.
• The role drives operational readiness for large-scale AI compute infrastructure by managing day-to-day collaboration with partner operations, construction, and delivery teams, identifying and removing blockers impacting datacenter deployment, and driving resolution of complex operational issues across multiple organizations to maintain momentum and reliability.
• It establishes operational rhythms, reporting, and escalation paths for major delivery programs, works closely with internal teams including infrastructure engineering, datacenter operations, hardware deployment, networking, and supply chain, and aligns technical execution with commercial and operational commitments to ensure infrastructure programs meet schedule, reliability, and scale targets.
• The position balances tactical operational execution with long-term infrastructure strategy by developing scalable processes for managing large infrastructure partnerships and contributing to operational models that support OpenAI’s expanding AI infrastructure footprint, ensuring sustained capability to support future AI breakthroughs.
• Success in this role means enabling the reliable, scalable deployment of AI infrastructure that directly supports OpenAI’s ability to train and deploy frontier models, contributing to advancements in AI that benefit humanity through safe, powerful, and widely accessible technology.

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure delivery, datacenter operations, or large-scale technical program execution
• Experience managing complex partner relationships in infrastructure, cloud, or hyperscale environments
• Strong understanding of physical infrastructure operations (datacenters, facilities, construction, or network/hardware deployment)
• Experience coordinating cross-functional programs across engineering, operations, and external partners
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes across distributed teams
• Experience with hyperscale datacenter development or operations (preferred)
• Background in construction, datacenter campus buildouts, or infrastructure deployment programs (preferred)
