đź“‹ Description
- • As an Infrastructure Engineer at Tailscale, you will play a critical role in enabling internal business units by building shared engineering services and tools that empower teams across the organization to succeed. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and observability of Tailscale’s internal infrastructure, supporting everything from product development to customer-facing operations.
- • Day to day, you will design, build, test, and document core software components; collaborate with stakeholders to understand and meet their needs through end-to-end project ownership; improve observability via metrics, alerting, logging, and telemetry; utilize infrastructure as code in cloud environments; automate upgrades for managed services and VMs; and participate in incident response and customer support escalations to ensure system stability.
- • Tailscale is a fully remote, early-stage company founded in 2019, backed by top-tier investors including Accel, CRV, and Insight. We are building a simpler, safer Internet by making secure device interconnection easy for users ranging from hobbyists to multinational corporations. Our engineering culture values autonomy, asynchronous collaboration, and technical excellence, with a strong emphasis on ownership and continuous improvement.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (particularly AWS), Kubernetes, and observability practices. You’ll gain hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and secrets management while contributing to meaningful internal tooling that drives business decisions. You’ll also grow your ability to navigate ambiguity, give and receive feedback, and thrive in a fast-moving, mission-driven startup environment.
