📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code principles with Terraform on AWS.
• Operate and support production systems in a 24/7 environment, participating in an on-call rotation every four weeks (Sunday–Monday, 9am–9pm PT / 12pm–12am ET).
• Collaborate with application engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and performant infrastructure solutions that align with product and customer needs.
• Build and maintain observability tooling using Datadog and OpenSearch to monitor system health, detect anomalies, and drive incident response.
• Automate deployment, configuration, and operational workflows using CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Ensure infrastructure adheres to security best practices, including secure-by-default design and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to runbooks, incident post-mortems, and system improvements to enhance reliability and reduce operational toil.
• Onboard into HackerOne’s infrastructure ecosystem, including AWS, Kubernetes, Ruby on Rails, and GraphQL, within the first 30 days.
• Own and deliver scoped infrastructure projects within 60 days, demonstrating incremental improvements to system performance, security, or resilience.
• Partner with security, compliance, and engineering teams to understand and implement requirements related to FedRAMP, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 environments.
• Support the reliability of systems serving enterprise clients including the U.S. Department of Defense, Goldman Sachs, and Uber by maintaining high availability and secure configurations.
• Communicate technical decisions and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across engineering and adjacent functions.
• Foster a positive team culture by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and supporting collaborative problem-solving.
• Continuously expand technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, DevOps tooling, and emerging AI-related infrastructure concerns such as model deployment and data handling.
• Operate in a remote-first environment with flexibility to work from Boston, MA; Seattle, WA; Austin, TX; or Washington, DC, with occasional in-person collaboration encouraged.
• Maintain alignment with HackerOne’s values of Customer Obsession, Default to Disclosure, and Win Together through transparent communication and accountable execution.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working with Linux-based systems and cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Datadog, Cloudflare, and OpenSearch
• Experience operating and supporting production systems in an on-call environment
• Familiarity with modern DevOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or GitHub Actions)
• Strong understanding of reliability, observability, and secure infrastructure practices
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation between 9am–9pm PT / 12pm–12am ET once every four weeks (Sunday–Monday)
