📋 Description

  • The Inpatient Coding Specialist is responsible for reviewing and analyzing medical record documentation for inpatient, outpatient, and professional services to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes based on physician documentation, adhering to AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding and official coding guidelines.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing clinical documentation, applying ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes, ensuring coding accuracy and compliance, utilizing encoder systems (such as 3M) and EHR platforms (such as Epic), and maintaining productivity and quality standards in a remote work environment.
