- • SpryPoint is at the forefront of modernizing the utility industry, recognized by Deloitte's Fast 50 Canada and Fast 500 North America. We are a rapidly scaling, cloud-native software company dedicated to providing purpose-built customer service and operations platforms for utilities. Founded in 2011 by industry veterans, we have grown to over 300 employees, serving more than 100 utility clients across North America and the Caribbean. Our mission is to empower utility leaders with technology that exceeds expectations, addressing the urgent need to replace inefficient legacy systems while navigating increasing operational complexity and evolving customer demands. With a proven track record of successful implementations for water, electric, and gas utilities, SpryPoint is a trusted partner, delivering comprehensive solutions like SpryCIS, SpryEngage, SpryMobile, and SpryWallet to modernize the entire meter-to-cash process. Our unique 'updates, not upgrades' philosophy, user-centric design, and unwavering commitment to customer success differentiate us in the market. Strategic investments from Norwest Venture Partners (since 2023) and Insight Partners (announced in 2026) are fueling our accelerated growth, all while we remain committed to our core values: lead with kindness, vision with impact, radical honesty, bold disruption, keep it simple, and execute with excellence. We are seeking to expand our award-winning team by hiring an Instructional Designer on an 8-month contract basis to join our dynamic Learning and Development team.
- • As an Instructional Designer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing how we support and engage our clients through innovative and effective product training. You will be instrumental in developing a diverse array of training materials and activities designed not only to educate clients on the functionality of our software but also to foster a deep appreciation for its value and benefits. Your contributions will directly impact client adoption, proficiency, and overall satisfaction with SpryPoint's solutions.
- • This role is part of the Centre of Excellence and reports to the Team Lead, Learning and Development. You will engage in close collaboration with fellow Instructional Designers, as well as key stakeholders from our Product Development, UI/UX, and Service Delivery teams. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for ensuring that training content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with product roadmaps and client needs.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and implement engaging and effective learning solutions for SpryPoint's suite of products. This includes creating a variety of training materials such as e-learning modules, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, quick reference guides, video tutorials, and interactive simulations. You will leverage adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create learning experiences that are both informative and impactful.
- • You will be expected to conduct thorough needs analyses to identify learning gaps and performance objectives for various client roles and user groups. This involves working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) from product and service delivery teams to gather information, validate content, and ensure technical accuracy. Your ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and easily understandable learning content will be crucial.
- • A key aspect of this role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to strict timelines, and delivering high-quality training materials within the 8-month contract period. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of training development, from initial concept and design to development, implementation, and evaluation.
- • You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our learning programs by evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback mechanisms and performance data. This feedback loop will inform future training development and ensure our learning solutions remain relevant and impactful.
- • This position is fully remote, offering flexibility and work-life balance. However, the successful candidate must be based in Canada. Occasional travel may be required to client sites across North America or to our new Atlanta office, necessitating a willingness to travel as needed.
- • By joining SpryPoint, you will become part of an award-winning company that is making a significant impact on an essential industry. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, collaborate with talented professionals, and contribute to the success of a high-growth organization. This contract role offers a unique chance to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the professional development of our clients and the growth of SpryPoint.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as an Instructional Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of learning solutions (e-learning, instructor-led, blended).
- • Proficiency in adult learning theories and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
- • Experience with e-learning development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia software.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, engaging content.
- • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote work arrangement, offering flexibility and work-life balance.
- • Opportunity to work with a leading, award-winning software company in the utility sector.
- • Exposure to cutting-edge cloud-native technology and a dynamic product suite.
- • Collaborative and supportive team environment within a growing organization.
- • Contract role offering focused project experience within an 8-month timeframe.
