📋 Description

• Performs follow-up on insurance billing and collection activities, verifying the accuracy and completeness of insurance records and claims, contacting insurance companies and other related duties to expedite payments from various payers for physician services.
• Day-to-day duties include reviewing patient accounts for accuracy of insurance, eligibility, and invoice resolution; utilizing Epic, system tools, and payer websites for claim submission and status; making collection calls to insurance companies and patients; supporting customer service in billing inquiries; assisting with training new staff; and meeting quality assurance and efficiency standards for one-touch resolution.
• Part of the Pre-Certification Services team at Washington University in St. Louis, contributing to timely and accurate payment processing for physician services in a remote, office-based environment.
• Opportunity to develop expertise in medical billing, insurance follow-up, Epic EHR, and collections strategies; potential to act as Team Lead and assist with special projects and staff training, supporting career growth in healthcare administration.

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of billing or insurance experience
• Proficiency in Epic EHR, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
• Knowledge of medical billing and coding, insurance follow-up, and collections strategies
• Strong telephone and communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential data in compliance with HIPAA
