📋 Description
- • The Insurance Expert (AI Residency) role at Aptura Inc. offers a unique opportunity to bridge deep insurance expertise with cutting-edge AI development, helping shape how frontier AI systems reason and make decisions in high-stakes insurance domains such as underwriting, actuarial modeling, and portfolio management.
- • Day to day, you will develop and iterate realistic prompts to test AI-generated insights, systematically compare human versus machine judgment in insurance contexts, design frameworks that translate professional insurance reasoning into AI challenges, and construct and validate real-world benchmarks using underwriting cases, actuarial analyses, and investment models.
- • You will join a specialized team at Mentis AI, an expert intelligence platform backed by experience from Lazard, Partners Group, and applied AI research, working remotely with leading AI labs to improve model performance in institutional finance and now expanding into insurance.
- • In this role, you will gain hands-on involvement in the development and evaluation of frontier AI systems, build expertise in AI alignment with professional judgment, contribute to meaningful benchmarks that advance AI reliability in insurance, and grow your impact at the intersection of insurance expertise and artificial intelligence.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience at a major P&C or Life insurance carrier in an Associate or VP-level role
- • Expertise in one of the following: Investments (fixed income/multi-asset portfolios, ALM, duration matching, RBC/Solvency II), Underwriting (risk selection, pricing, loss modeling), or Actuarial (FSA/FCAS or near-credentialed, with reserving, pricing, or capital modeling experience)
- • Ability to articulate insurance-specific analytical judgment clearly and precisely in writing
- • Strong intellectual curiosity about the application of AI in the insurance industry
