- • Own your future as a Horace Mann Insurance Producer and become the trusted financial partner for educators in Cheyenne, WY and across Wyoming. You will operate as an independent business owner backed by a 75-year-old company that exists solely to serve America’s teachers, administrators, and school staff. Every day you will translate complex insurance and financial concepts into simple, actionable plans that protect what educators have built and accelerate what they still want to achieve.
- • Build and manage a multi-line book of business that includes auto, home, life, and retirement products designed exclusively for the education community. You will prospect within an established territory, mine warm leads from Horace Mann’s existing client base, and generate new opportunities through strategic community engagement. Expect to conduct 15–20 fact-finding appointments per week—both virtual and in-person—while continuously expanding your pipeline through referrals, district partnerships, and educator-focused events.
- • Deliver consultative sales presentations to individuals, faculty meetings, union gatherings, and district-wide benefit fairs. You will translate educators’ unique pay schedules, pension formulas, and supplemental income needs into tailored coverage and savings strategies. Mastery of Horace Mann’s simple, streamlined product portfolio will allow you to quote, illustrate, and close business on the spot using tablet-based tools and e-signature workflows.
- • Drive brand visibility by representing Horace Mann at school sporting events, PTA fundraisers, NEA conferences, and chamber-of-commerce mixers. You will sponsor classroom grants, host after-school financial literacy workshops, and coordinate “Teacher Appreciation” campaigns that position you as a visible ally in the education ecosystem. Your calendar will balance proactive outreach with reactive service, ensuring every policyholder feels supported long after the sale.
- • Leverage Horace Mann’s value-added services—student-loan forgiveness guidance, retirement readiness calculators, and exclusive educator discounts—to open doors that traditional agents cannot. These turnkey programs create natural conversation starters and shorten the sales cycle, allowing newer producers to achieve early production wins within their first 90 days.
- • Participate in a structured 36-month development track that combines virtual classrooms, field coaching, and peer mentoring. You will complete state licensing requirements (Property & Casualty, Life & Health) within the first 60 days, then advance through quarterly product academies, sales-skills labs, and leadership intensives. High achievers will qualify for accelerated tracks that prepare them to mentor future producers or transition into district-level leadership roles.
- • Track performance against weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics using Horace Mann’s proprietary CRM and mobile dashboard. You will analyze close ratios, average premium per household, cross-sell penetration, and persistency to refine your approach and maximize lifetime client value. Transparent leaderboards and real-time commission statements keep motivation high and provide clear line-of-sight to six-figure earning potential.
