• Seaport Global Holdings LLC is actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our dynamic Trading/Institutional Sales team. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced financial services environment, contributing directly to critical business initiatives. You will be based in our vibrant midtown Manhattan office, immersing yourself in the daily operations of a sophisticated trading desk.
• This intensive, short-term project is specifically designed to target the intricate and specialized area of sourcing bankruptcy and litigation claims. As an intern, you will play a vital role in identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities within these complex markets. Your contributions will be instrumental in building our pipeline of distressed assets and providing valuable insights to the team.
• A significant aspect of your role will involve performing high-level outreach to identify liquidity needs for holders of illiquid assets. This requires a proactive and strategic approach to engaging with potential clients and understanding their unique financial situations. You will learn to navigate challenging conversations, build rapport, and effectively communicate the value proposition of Seaport Global's services.
• You will be tasked with conducting thorough research on various companies undergoing bankruptcy proceedings or involved in significant litigation. This research will encompass understanding the legal frameworks, financial structures, and potential recovery values associated with these claims. Your ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly will be highly valued.
• The internship will provide exposure to the mechanics of trading distressed debt and other illiquid securities. You will observe and potentially assist in the analysis of trade proposals, market data, and risk assessments, gaining practical knowledge of how these markets function.

• Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Performing high-level outreach to potential clients, including institutional investors and holders of illiquid assets, to understand their liquidity requirements.
• Developing and maintaining databases of potential claims and client contacts.
• Analyzing market data and trends relevant to distressed debt and special situations.
• Supporting the sales team in preparing presentations and marketing materials.
• Participating in team meetings and contributing to strategic discussions.
• Learning and applying various valuation methodologies for distressed assets.
• Understanding the regulatory landscape surrounding bankruptcy and litigation claims.
• Assisting with the operational aspects of trade execution and settlement, under supervision.
