- • The Corporate Development team at Viatris is at the forefront of driving the company's inorganic growth strategy. This dynamic team is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing a wide range of strategic transactions, including mid-size to large-scale Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, equity investments, and strategic partnerships. The Corporate Development Intern will gain invaluable hands-on experience in the intricate world of pharmaceutical strategic transactions, contributing directly to operational processes and engaging in high-impact strategic initiatives that shape the future growth trajectory of Viatris.
- • This internship is ideally suited for individuals with a strong academic background, particularly those with a focus or demonstrated interest in life sciences, who are seeking a comprehensive introduction to pharmaceutical deal-making, corporate strategy, and the broader business landscape of the healthcare industry.
- • As an intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the team's efforts in identifying and evaluating potential growth opportunities. This includes assisting in the compilation of detailed target profiles for opportunity screening. You will gather and analyze critical data on company portfolios, research pipelines, financial metrics, and key business drivers to inform strategic decisions.
- • You will have the unique opportunity to shadow experienced members of the Corporate Development team throughout various stages of the deal process. This exposure will provide deep insights into the complexities of due diligence, the strategic decision-making frameworks employed, and the intricacies of deal execution dynamics within a major pharmaceutical company.
- • A significant part of your role will involve conducting thorough market research and competitive analyses. These insights will be vital in supporting strategic assessments of potential opportunities and understanding the competitive landscape in which Viatris operates.
- • You will contribute to the creation of high-level, executive-ready presentations. These materials are essential for communicating findings and recommendations to Viatris senior leadership and the Board of Directors, honing your ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling narratives.
- • Maintaining the integrity and efficiency of deal tracking systems will be another key responsibility. You will assist in creating summary reports of ongoing and completed deal activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available to the team.
- • Embracing innovation, you will identify opportunities and strategies to automate or integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into existing Corporate Development workflows. This could involve exploring AI applications in landscape analyses, opportunity screening, and financial modeling, contributing to the team's efficiency and forward-thinking approach.
- • You will be tasked with completing a dedicated Corporate Development Summer Project, allowing you to delve deeply into a specific strategic area. Additionally, you will collaborate on a cross-functional Summer Project, providing exposure to different business units and fostering a holistic understanding of Viatris' operations.
- • Active participation in deal pipeline reviews, diligence sessions, and strategic discussions with key functions such as Commercial, Research & Development (R&D), and Legal will be integral to your experience. This will provide broad exposure to the cross-functional dynamics that are essential for successful Corporate Development initiatives.
