This internship is critical to maintaining the integrity and quality of G.E.H.A’s provider network by ensuring dental providers are properly recruited, credentialed, and retained in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with credentialing and recredentialing activities for dental providers, supporting the review, validation, and organization of provider documentation and data, helping maintain accurate provider records within credentialing and network systems, tracking credentialing status and follow-ups, supporting the preparation of reports and audit materials, collaborating with credentialing, network, and cross-functional teams to improve workflow efficiency, participating in team meetings and training sessions, and providing assistance with communications and meeting preparation.
  • The CDN team operates within G.E.H.A’s broader mission to empower federal workers to be healthy and well, functioning as a nimble and efficient unit within a nonprofit organization dedicated to inclusive, member-centered healthcare solutions. Interns will gain exposure to a purpose-driven environment where data integrity, compliance, and provider relationships directly impact member access to care.
  • Through this internship, the individual will develop practical skills in healthcare network operations, gain hands-on experience with credentialing processes in a regulated insurance setting, strengthen proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel for data validation), enhance organizational and communication abilities in a professional remote setting, and build foundational knowledge applicable to careers in health administration, public health, or healthcare management.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with care, including PHI/HIPAA-protected data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

🏖️ Benefits

  • Remote internship with structured schedule from June 8, 2026 to August 14, 2026, designed to provide meaningful, project-based experience in healthcare network operations
  • Opportunity to contribute to real-world credentialing and provider data initiatives that support G.E.H.A’s mission of serving federal employees and their families
  • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration within a mission-driven nonprofit organization committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Development of professional skills in documentation management, data validation, process improvement, and healthcare compliance
