• • Join Anima as an Intern New Grad Software Engineer and help us deliver precision medicine to every person on Earth within 24 hours. You will extend three existing product lines already used by millions of patients and architect brand-new ones at the bleeding edge of healthcare reinforcement learning and agentic AI. Every line of code you ship will directly translate into lives saved and suffering prevented.
• • Own end-to-end features from whiteboard to production in days, not months. Recent examples: Alex built “Slack for medical teams” (thousands of real-time channels, single source of truth for patient data) in four weeks from low-level AWS services; Dennis hacked an async indexing service that cut 30-second API latency to <2 seconds and deployed it to prod in under 24 hours. You will be given the same autonomy and tooling to move just as fast.
• • Work full-stack in TypeScript across two live web apps—one for clinicians, one for patients—built on Angular, Capacitor, Electron, React, and a fully serverless AWS backend (Cognito, AppSync GraphQL, Lambda, DynamoDB). Expect zero red tape: we choose the best tool for the job, maintain excellent test coverage, CI/CD, security, and performance with minimal ops overhead.
• • Ship integrations that matter on day one: connect legacy EMR systems and national APIs like the UK Electronic Prescribing Service so Anima can issue prescriptions directly. Iterate on proprietary graph-traversal algorithms that decide patient care paths, moving from explicit curation to implicit curation via neural networks.
• • Sit on customer calls to internalise clinician pain points and patient journeys, then translate those insights into pixel-perfect UX. We obsess over interface safety and dimensionality reduction at every boundary, ensuring the product is not only fast but also delightful and trustworthy for life-critical workflows.
• • Contribute to our active-learning data pipeline—one of the largest, highest-quality labelled healthcare datasets in the world. Help architect scalable ETL with version control, tokenisation, and deep-learning training/validation loops that will feed future superhuman personalised-medicine agents.
• • Grow into leadership at startup speed. Within six months you could be hiring and leading an autonomous squad of elite engineers, defining processes that maximise “discounted dev-time cost” while scaling the team. Transition paths exist to senior executive roles as we 10× clinical capacity globally.
• • Collaborate daily with a crew that values first-principles thinking, open discussion, and pragmatism over dogma. We communicate through the right channel at the right time—verbal, Slack, Notion—to keep collective productivity sky-high and ensure nothing falls between the cracks.
