- • Mews is seeking a highly autonomous and impactful Internal AI Builder to revolutionize internal business functions through the design, development, and continuous improvement of AI-powered tooling and automation. This senior individual contributor role is pivotal in addressing the growing operational complexity of a pre-IPO, multi-market SaaS company, ensuring that internal tooling keeps pace with the company's scale and ambition. The Internal AI Builder will own end-to-end delivery of AI initiatives across critical departments including Finance, HR, IT, Legal, and Operations, directly impacting efficiency, reducing manual effort, and unlocking team capacity. This role is for a proactive builder who thrives on identifying problems, shipping production solutions, and iterating based on measurable outcomes, operating without the typical support of dedicated product management or design teams.
- • The day-to-day responsibilities of the Internal AI Builder are multifaceted and demand a high degree of initiative and technical expertise. A primary focus will be identifying and prioritizing the most impactful automation opportunities across internal functions. This could involve developing solutions for financial close automation, creating employee self-service workflows, building IT access provisioning and offboarding pipelines, or implementing AI agents for policy question-answering. The role involves designing and deploying AI-powered systems to replace manual processes, such as document processing pipelines, approval automation, data extraction and reporting, HR workflow orchestration, and compliance evidence collection for frameworks like SOC2 and ISO. A significant part of the role includes engaging directly with functional leaders and their operational teams to understand pain points, translate these into technical requirements, and ensure alignment on delivery timelines and outcome metrics. The Internal AI Builder will be expected to build rapidly, prototype solutions within days, and ship to production within weeks, fostering a culture of continuous improvement rather than one-off releases. Pragmatic use of existing AI development tools, LLM APIs (such as Claude and OpenAI), and cloud-native integrations will be key, leveraging existing infrastructure within the Microsoft 365, Workday, and Atlassian ecosystems rather than reinventing the wheel. Furthermore, the role involves establishing reusable patterns, services, and frameworks to empower internal functions with self-serve automation capabilities and reduce future development time. The Internal AI Builder will also set the technical direction for internal AI tooling, make and document architectural decisions, and champion AI-native practices through code reviews, pairing, and coaching other engineers and operations staff. Clear communication of technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership, will be essential for influencing investment priorities and maintaining alignment across the business.
- • The Mews team is a dynamic and ambitious group of innovators dedicated to transforming the global hospitality industry with next-generation cloud technology. As a rapidly growing Hotel Tech unicorn valued at $2.5 billion, Mews empowers revolutionary hospitality brands to accelerate their digital transformation. The company fosters a culture of freedom, innovation, and open communication, where ideas can flourish and come to life. While the work can be challenging and fast-paced, team members can rely on strong support from their colleagues. Mews is recognized for its commitment to employee well-being, with accolades such as being named Best PMS of 2025 and a Best Place to Work in Hotel Tech. The company culture emphasizes fun, balance, and belonging, with various Slack channels for diverse interests and regular all-company meetings for transparency and engagement.
- • In this role, the Internal AI Builder has a unique opportunity to significantly shape the operational efficiency and technological capabilities of a leading hospitality tech company. They will gain hands-on experience in designing and implementing cutting-edge AI solutions across a broad spectrum of business functions, directly contributing to the company's growth and pre-IPO readiness. The role offers the chance to operate with significant autonomy, set technical direction, and mentor other team members, thereby raising the overall technical capability within the organization. Success in this position will lead to tangible business outcomes, demonstrating the direct impact of AI and automation on efficiency and profitability. This is an opportunity to be a key player in a fast-growing, innovative company, driving digital transformation from within and making a lasting impact on how internal operations are managed.
- • The Internal AI Builder will be instrumental in modernizing Mews' internal systems, moving beyond legacy tooling to embrace AI-driven automation. This involves a deep dive into the operational workflows of Finance, HR, IT, and Legal, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for AI intervention. For Finance, this could mean automating reconciliation processes, improving forecasting accuracy, or streamlining procurement. In HR, it might involve enhancing employee onboarding, automating HR queries, or improving talent management processes. For IT and Security, the focus could be on automating access management, improving threat detection, or streamlining incident response. Legal operations could benefit from AI-assisted contract review, compliance checks, and knowledge management. The role requires a strategic mindset to design solutions that are not only efficient but also scalable, secure, and compliant with relevant regulations such as SOC2, ISO27001, and GDPR. The ability to build reusable components and frameworks will be crucial for fostering a culture of self-service automation, enabling other teams to leverage AI capabilities without deep technical expertise. This position offers a unique blend of technical challenge, strategic impact, and leadership opportunity within a dynamic and rapidly evolving company, making it an ideal role for a seasoned builder looking to make a significant mark.
