📋 Description
- • As an Internal Control Specialist focused on non-financial risk at Adyen, you will play a critical role in strengthening the company’s global internal control framework to support sustainable growth and operational excellence. Your work will directly contribute to preserving company culture, ensuring compliance, and enabling long-term business success by identifying and improving controls across operational, HR, and legal/compliance domains.
- • Day to day, you will evaluate and test non-financial processes and controls, identify deficiencies, support audit cycles (including SOC1/SOC2), collaborate with global peers on framework improvements, advise business stakeholders, and contribute to projects such as new product launches and licensing initiatives. You will operate independently while working across cultures and time zones, embodying Adyen’s values of proactive inquiry, critical thinking, and continuous improvement.
- • You will join Adyen’s global Internal Control team within a fast-paced, innovative financial technology environment where ambition is engineered into every solution. Adyen powers payments and financial products for global leaders like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft, and fosters a culture of ownership, collaboration, and career growth supported by strong values and inclusive practices.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in internal control and risk management, gain exposure to global financial technology operations, develop stakeholder influence and advisory skills, and contribute to meaningful automation and process improvement initiatives — positioning you for advancement in risk, compliance, or internal audit leadership.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 4 years relevant working experience within an external audit, (operational) risk management or internal control function
- • Experience within a Big 4 and/or the financial services industry is a plus
- • Able to apply base-level knowledge of designing and testing internal controls
- • Critical thinking skills and eagerness to solve challenges
- • Eager to work in an innovative technology company within the financial sector
- • Thrives in an unstructured, fast-paced environment with a ‘can-do’ mentality
- • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
