- • The Internal Product Specialist - Equipment & Instruments role at Avantor (VWR International, LLC) is critical to supporting commercial operations by ensuring accurate, technically sound quotations and efficient product sourcing for laboratory equipment. This position directly contributes to business growth by enabling sales teams with precise technical and commercial information, reducing quote turnaround time, and improving conversion rates in a competitive scientific marketplace.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing detailed quotations for laboratory equipment covering pricing, delivery, servicing, and whole-life costing; responding to technical and commercial inquiries from customers and internal teams via phone, Teams, chat, and email; investigating lead times and delivery specifications; meeting KPIs for quotation turnaround and conversion rates; supporting cross-functional projects and reporting; building and maintaining supplier relationships; identifying cross-selling opportunities across product portfolios; participating in customer visits and sales conferences as needed; and assisting the wider Internal Product Specialist team with queries outside the Equipment & Instruments portfolio to ensure workflow efficiency.
- • The Equipment & Instruments team operates within Avantor’s global commercial organization, supporting a diverse portfolio of capital equipment essential to research, clinical, and industrial laboratories. The team collaborates closely with sales, marketing, supply chain, and technical support functions to deliver seamless customer experiences and drive revenue growth through expert product knowledge and responsive service.
- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in laboratory capital equipment such as CO₂ incubators, centrifuges, and autoclaves; strengthen your technical and commercial acumen in a global life sciences distributor; enhance your stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills; and gain exposure to end-to-end quotation and order management processes — positioning you for advancement into senior specialist, team lead, or commercial operations roles within Avantor’s growing E&I division.
🎯 Requirements
- • Degree in a scientific discipline or minimum two years of laboratory experience
- • Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and supplies
- • Solid technical understanding of the Capital Equipment & Instruments portfolio, including familiarity with key products such as CO₂ incubators, centrifuges, and autoclaves
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, and SAP
