Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end accuracy of inventory transactions for a fast-growing, mission-driven organic kids’ food brand. You will process daily receipts, transfers, production, and consumption entries across multiple co-manufacturers and 3PLs, ensuring every pouch, bowl, and frozen meal is accounted for from farm to fridge.
- • Partner with Supply Planning, Procurement, and Logistics to maintain real-time visibility of finished goods, raw materials, and packaging. Your dashboards will be the single source of truth that prevents stock-outs of our best-selling Blueberry or over-production of seasonal blends.
- • Investigate and resolve book-to-book variances within 48 hours. You will trace discrepancies back to work-order usage, yield assumptions, or co-man BOM changes, then propose corrective journal entries that keep our financials audit-ready.
- • Close work orders every week with surgical precision—confirming actual ingredient usage, labor, and overhead absorption—so month-end close finishes in five business days or less. Your reconciliations will feed directly into COGS and margin analytics used by the CFO and investors.
- • Set up new SKUs and maintain item masters, BOMs, and standard costs in NetSuite (or similar ERP). You will partner with R&D and Procurement to roll costs for new recipes like our forthcoming veggie-packed Smoothie Bowls, ensuring accurate margin projections from day one.
- • Act as the primary liaison with external co-manufacturers and 3PLs to validate inbound receipts, production yields, and outbound shipments. You will schedule weekly calls, spot-check cycle counts, and drive accountability through clear KPIs and scorecards.
- • Build and maintain automated inventory reports in Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) and BI tools that flag slow-movers, excess, and expiration risk. Your insights will influence promotional planning and donation strategies that fight food waste.
- • Support the implementation of new WMS, EDI, or automation platforms. You will map legacy processes, test integrations, and train cross-functional users—turning “version 1.0” workflows into scalable, audit-compliant procedures.
- • Champion internal controls and SOX compliance by documenting processes, updating SOPs, and performing quarterly self-audits. Your work will give external auditors confidence and keep leadership focused on growth, not firefighting.
- • Travel up to 10 %—roughly one week per quarter—to co-manufacturing sites in California, Texas, or Oregon for physical counts, process walk-throughs, and relationship building. These trips are where your data meets the production floor.
- • Contribute to ad-hoc projects that span sustainability reporting (organic ingredient traceability), cost-saving initiatives (lightweight pouch transition), and ERP enhancements. Your voice will shape how Once Upon a Farm scales from start-up to household name.
- • Bring genuine passion for improving childhood nutrition. Whether you’re taste-testing a new dairy-free blend or volunteering at a local food bank, you’ll live the mission every day.
