Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • As an IOL Manager for Alcon in Western Australia, you will be a pivotal figure in driving the success of our Intraocular Lens (IOL) portfolio within surgical facilities across the region. This role is designed for a motivated and technically adept professional who thrives in a customer-facing environment, acting as a key consultant and strategic partner to our clients.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and grow the IOL portfolio, ensuring Alcon's innovative products are effectively presented and adopted. This involves a deep understanding of our IOL offerings, including their unique benefits and competitive advantages, particularly in differentiating against rival products. You will be expected to provide high-level technical consultancy, enabling surgical facilities to make informed decisions that enhance patient outcomes.
  • Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with Account Managers to align strategies and ensure a seamless customer experience. Furthermore, you will liaise with the Tender and Pricing teams to develop compelling solutions that meet the specific needs of our customers, contributing directly to securing new business and maintaining strong existing relationships.
  • A key objective will be to drive overall IOL revenue and market share within your designated territory. This requires a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, as well as nurturing and optimizing relationships with existing key customers. Your success will be measured by your ability to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • You will play a crucial role in accelerating the penetration of our Presbyopia Correcting IOLs (PCIOLs), a significant growth area for Alcon. This will involve understanding the market dynamics, educating customers on the benefits of advanced IOL technology, and facilitating the adoption of these cutting-edge solutions.
  • The role also encompasses managing the implementation of the Accelerator program in selected accounts, a strategic initiative designed to enhance product adoption and customer engagement. You will be responsible for ensuring the program's successful execution and for tracking its impact on sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Managing tender requirements is another critical aspect of your role. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to prepare and submit comprehensive and competitive tender proposals, ensuring all requirements are met and that Alcon's value proposition is clearly articulated.
  • You will also collaborate with the Customer Operations team to manage consignment stock and leverage our MyAlcon360 platform, optimizing inventory management and ensuring product availability for our clients.
  • Providing timely and insightful feedback on competitor activities in the field to your line management is essential for maintaining Alcon's competitive edge. This intelligence will inform strategic planning and product development.
  • Upholding an excellent company image and adhering to the MTAA code of practice are non-negotiable aspects of this role, reflecting Alcon's commitment to ethical business practices and industry standards.
  • Success in this role demands a customer-oriented mindset, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to build trust and rapport with stakeholders at all levels within surgical facilities.
  • You will need to demonstrate flexibility, motivation, self-confidence, and resilience, coupled with a goal-oriented mindset and a strong sense of drive to achieve ambitious targets.
  • Strong logical and analytical skills are required to effectively solve problems and make sound business decisions, which should be based on data, fairness, and consistency. The ability to work independently and proactively is paramount.
  • You will be joining a talented and collaborative team committed to outstanding results, where innovation and customer focus are highly valued. Your contributions will be recognized within an inclusive culture that fosters growth and development.
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients by contributing to advancements in eye health, working for a global leader renowned for its commitment to innovation and excellence in eye care.
