You will be instrumental in maintaining the reliability of hardware, software, and network infrastructure, while also playing a key role in the seamless setup of new hospital locations. Your responsibilities will span from hands-on troubleshooting and solution implementation to strategic collaboration with both hospital leadership and the broader IT organization.

This involves a deep understanding of our operational workflows and the ability to translate those needs into effective IT solutions. Your role will require you to foster strong, collaborative relationships with local and regional leaders, acting as their primary IT point of contact and ensuring that VEG's commitment to exceptional service extends to its technological backbone.
- • A significant aspect of your role will involve representing the IT organization with professionalism and a customer-centric approach. You will interact directly with VEGgies (our employees) and customers, providing support and ensuring a positive experience. This includes the ability to assess needs, provide clear guidance, and troubleshoot issues efficiently. In certain situations, you may also be involved in interviewing and selecting additional IT support staff for your region, ensuring that the highest standards of customer service and technical proficiency are maintained.
- • Continuous improvement will be a cornerstone of your work. You will be tasked with identifying opportunities to enhance IT processes and systems, ultimately leading to a better customer experience for both our internal teams and the pet parents we serve. This involves staying abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in IT support and infrastructure management.

You will serve as their trusted escalation point within the IT organization, particularly concerning service-related issues and requests. This requires not only technical acumen but also strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills to navigate and resolve challenges effectively.
- • Protecting VEG's valuable data, software, and hardware assets will be a key responsibility. You will contribute to the coordination, planning, and implementation of robust operational measures to safeguard our IT environment against threats and ensure business continuity.
- • You will collaborate closely with local staff to review and finalize specifications and project plans for various infrastructure and hospital projects. This includes contributing to the definition of criteria, selection, interviewing, and hiring of new Field Service resources, ensuring they possess the necessary technical and customer service skills to align with local needs and organizational goals.
- • A core function of this role is to recommend and maintain streamlined hospital technology solutions, implementing best practices across all VEG locations. This involves a hands-on approach to deploying, configuring, and supporting a range of IT equipment and software.
- • This position is inherently field-based and requires significant travel within the Bay Area to support our local hospitals on a daily basis, as well as for new hospital openings. You can expect to be on the road 3-5 days per week at times, involving frequent driving and potentially flights. Weekend or holiday travel may be necessary to align with critical hospital opening schedules. This dynamic travel requirement is an integral part of the role, ensuring our facilities are always supported.
- • You will be expected to assess, mentor, and coach future assigned direct reports, ensuring they meet and exceed organizational goals, processes, and procedures. This leadership component is vital for building a strong and capable IT support team.
- • Your ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products using documentation and internet resources will be essential, as VEG continuously evolves its technological landscape.
- • You will work effectively with all levels of staff, both within and outside the IT department, and external to the organization, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
