• • As an IT Solutions Engineer at OpenAI, Inc., you will be at the forefront of operationalizing and securing our rapidly scaling enterprise environment. You will serve as a critical bridge between Security, Engineering, and Employee Technology platforms, ensuring that our employee-facing systems, identity workflows, and enterprise applications are not only functional but also predictable, governed, and continuously reliable. This role is pivotal in establishing and maintaining structured operating patterns that allow for safe and consistent evolution of platform changes, access models, integrations, and lifecycle workflows across our entire enterprise.
• • In this capacity, you will act as an operational owner for identity-connected enterprise SaaS platforms and system change controls, directly supporting OpenAI’s stringent compliance requirements. Your primary responsibility will be to guarantee that production configurations, access models, and platform changes are not only compliant and auditable but also consistently operated through well-defined controls. You will take ownership of and operationalize controlled system and workflow changes across a diverse range of critical systems, including identity platforms, essential SaaS applications, collaboration tooling, and core enterprise infrastructure.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves deep collaboration with our Security, Platform Engineering, and IT Support Operations teams. You will work hand-in-hand with these groups to ensure that identity and access workflows behave consistently and predictably across all integrated systems. This includes implementing structured rollout and configuration practices for enterprise applications, thereby enhancing the visibility and traceability of system changes that directly impact employee workflows. A key objective will be to translate complex operational requirements into durable automation and policy-aligned implementations, fostering a more robust and efficient IT ecosystem.

• • **Enterprise SaaS & Identity Platform Ownership:** You will be responsible for the administration and operational stewardship of our enterprise SaaS and identity-connected platforms. This includes ensuring the integrity of configurations, maintaining robust access governance, and strictly adhering to defined control requirements. You will own the critical processes for onboarding new users, managing access modifications, and handling offboarding workflows, all aligned with standardized entitlement models. A core duty is to ensure that lifecycle events reliably propagate across all downstream systems, maintaining an accurate and auditable record of access states. Furthermore, you will be tasked with maintaining consistent platform configurations and actively reducing unmanaged variances across all business-critical systems. In partnership with Security and IT Support Operations, you will enforce least-privilege access models and establish durable ownership boundaries to enhance security and accountability.
• • **Controlled Change, Automation & Operational Reliability:** This role demands the design and operationalization of structured rollout patterns for enterprise system configuration and workflow changes. You will be expected to replace manual administrative actions with governed automation, incorporating sophisticated validation, comprehensive logging, and rollback-aware deployment patterns to minimize risk. A key deliverable is translating operational and compliance requirements into durable system implementations that significantly improve both reliability and auditability. You will leverage your expertise to build automated operational workflows using APIs, infrastructure-as-code principles, scripting languages, and low-code automation platforms, driving efficiency and consistency.
• • **Integration & Platform Engineering:** You will execute and maintain critical integrations across our identity providers, various SaaS platforms, ITSM systems, and internal tooling to ensure seamless and consistent system behavior. A vital part of your role will be to standardize integration and deployment approaches across different environments, thereby supporting scalable platform adoption. You will translate ambiguous operational requirements into clearly defined, structured workflows and dependable system implementations. By partnering cross-functionally, you will convert recurring incidents and operational friction points into durable system improvements, proactively addressing challenges and enhancing the overall IT experience for employees.
