- • As a Junior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) at ICF Next, you will be instrumental in tackling complex client challenges by leveraging your sharp analytical and critical thinking skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to take direct ownership of project deliverables, thrive in a dynamic and diverse work environment, and benefit from flexible remote work arrangements. You will be supported by a management team deeply committed to fostering your professional growth and development.
- • The core of your responsibilities will involve applying advanced analytical and documentation skills within the context of digital development. You'll be expected to effectively prioritize tasks, embrace accountability, manage multiple assignments concurrently, and collaborate seamlessly within an Agile software development framework.
- • ICF Next is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to federal and state agencies, focusing on the development and management of their digital products. Your work will contribute to significant initiatives such as modernization projects, ongoing operations and maintenance, and the creation of innovative new digital products designed to meet and exceed client objectives.
- • You will be part of multidisciplinary digital delivery teams that specialize in holistic support across project management, software development, UX/UI design, analytics, content strategy, content management, and product management. These teams operate remotely, collaborating effectively to achieve agency goals.
- • As a Junior BSA, you will act as a crucial connective tissue between these diverse disciplines. Your role will involve ensuring clear and concise communication and providing meticulous organizational support to keep projects on track.
- • You will support the entire digital software development lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering and research through design, stakeholder engagement, rigorous testing, and the final delivery of user-facing systems.
- • A key aspect of your role will be gathering requirements through various methods, including conducting interviews with both internal and external stakeholders, meticulously reviewing existing documentation, distributing questionnaires, analyzing current business processes, outlining detailed use cases and scenarios, performing in-depth business analysis, and examining existing systems.
- • You will utilize a range of industry-standard methods to document these requirements. This includes creating Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) specifications, writing clear and concise user stories, defining precise acceptance criteria, developing workflow and Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams, crafting comprehensive use cases, and producing user guides.
- • Maintaining comprehensive requirements traceability documentation will be essential, ensuring that the status of all requirements is consistently monitored throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- • Effective verbal and written communication is paramount. You will need to communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders who rely on this information to define system requirements and organizational processes.
- • You will facilitate team meetings with the specific purpose of gathering, documenting, refining, and prioritizing requirements. This includes contributing to the design of system enhancements, identifying key action items, and driving the incorporation of user feedback.
- • Your responsibilities will extend to documenting user experience (UX) design discussions, writing requirements directly within the team’s collaborative workspace, and breaking down larger requirements into manageable user stories within the team’s designated issue tracking system.
- • You will conduct diverse testing activities by defining test scenarios and cases, executing test procedures meticulously, and thoroughly documenting all test results.
- • Collaboration is key. You will work closely with subject matter experts, designers, and user experience researchers within an Agile framework, contributing to a cohesive and productive team environment.
- • You will be expected to provide insightful recommendations for enhancing internal processes, along with potential solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- • You will also collaborate closely with the Scrum Master and provide essential support, acting as a backup when necessary to ensure the smooth progression of Agile ceremonies and processes.
