  • • As a Junior Business Development Manager in Rome, you will serve as the face of Deliveroo in the local market, driving growth by identifying and securing new restaurant partnerships that directly expand the culinary selection available to customers across the city. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers a unique opportunity to become a founding member of Deliveroo’s expanding presence in Italy, working with premium and well-regarded establishments to shape the future of food delivery in one of Europe’s most vibrant food capitals.
  • • On a day-to-day basis, you will engage in strategic prospecting by mapping, researching, pitching, and closing new restaurant partners across Rome through a disciplined and organized approach; you will act as a technology advocate by conducting in-person visits, phone calls, emails, and social media outreach to demonstrate the value of Deliveroo’s platform to local business owners; you will provide hands-on partner support by guiding restaurant owners and managers through the onboarding process, addressing concerns, and ensuring a seamless integration experience; you will immerse yourself in the local food scene by attending industry events, networking with chefs and restaurateurs, and monitoring emerging culinary trends to stay ahead of market shifts; and you will lead negotiations to structure mutually beneficial commercial agreements that align partner goals with Deliveroo’s growth objectives.
  • • You will join the Regional Sales team, reporting directly to the Sales Lead, and collaborate with a driven, entrepreneurial group focused on scaling Deliveroo’s marketplace in key Italian cities. The team operates with high autonomy and a startup-like energy, despite being backed by a global technology leader, allowing you to take ownership of your territory and make immediate impact. Deliveroo’s Commercial team is central to the company’s mission, responsible for unlocking new revenue streams, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding into new verticals — making your role critical to the company’s continued innovation and market leadership.
  • • In this role, you will develop advanced skills in B2B sales, negotiation, and market analysis while gaining deep exposure to the fast-evolving food-tech industry. You will build a strong professional network within Rome’s hospitality sector, refine your ability to craft data-informed growth strategies, and gain experience working within a global scale-up that values initiative, resilience, and customer-centric thinking — positioning you for long-term career growth in business development, sales, or entrepreneurship.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience in sales with a demonstrated track record of targeting and acquiring new business, particularly in B2B or field-based environments.
  • • Exceptional communication skills, including high confidence and effectiveness in face-to-face interactions, phone conversations, and digital outreach via email and social media.
  • • Strong negotiation abilities, with the capacity to handle objections, navigate complex commercial discussions, and structure win-win deals.
  • • A genuine interest in or prior knowledge of the restaurant or hospitality industry is highly advantageous.
  • • Self-motivated, resilient, and tenacious mindset — able to work independently, persist through rejection, and thrive in a competitive, fast-paced market.
