📋 Description

• As a Junior Legal Counsel at Apify Technologies s.r.o., you will play a vital role in supporting the company’s rapid growth by ensuring legal operations run smoothly, contracts are managed efficiently, and compliance standards are upheld—directly enabling developers and businesses worldwide to extract value from the web through Apify’s web scraping and automation platform.
• You will join a dynamic, innovative legal team in Prague (Lucerna Palace) or Brno (Titanium), contributing to a mission-driven tech company that empowers solopreneurs, startups, and Fortune 500 firms to automate manual tasks and monetize tools via the Apify Store, with your work forming the legal backbone of scalable, ethical data extraction.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining and improving the contract management system and associated legal tools to streamline workflows, ensuring all templates and agreements are current, accessible, and aligned with internal policies and external regulations.
• You will actively review, organize, and update existing contracts and legal templates, automate tracking of key dates (such as renewals and terminations), and support the legal team in maintaining a centralized, searchable repository that reduces risk and increases operational efficiency.
• A core part of your role will involve drafting and negotiating standard commercial contracts with business partners, including SaaS agreements, data processing addendums, and vendor contracts, under the guidance of senior counsel, helping to balance legal protection with business agility.
• You will conduct thorough legal research on evolving regulations (such as GDPR, ePrivacy, and AI-related legislation), case law, and industry-specific legal topics to inform internal decisions, advise product and engineering teams, and ensure Apify’s services remain compliant across jurisdictions.
• You will perform KYC (Know Your Customer) checks on business partners, assess compliance risks, and resolve inquiries related to anti-money laundering, sanctions, and data protection, helping Apify maintain trust and integrity in its global developer ecosystem.

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in law from a Czech law school (recent graduate accepted; no prior in-house experience required)
• Fluency in both Czech and English, with strong written and spoken proficiency, including comprehension of English legal terminology and ability to review Czech-language legal documents
• Exceptional attention to detail, with proven ability to manage complex legal documents accurately and consistently
• Strong analytical and research skills, capable of interpreting statutes, case law, and regulatory guidance in a broader business context
• Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities shift with company growth
