- • The Red Hat Linux Virtualization team is seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, test, and automate deployment tools and solutions for virtualization technologies in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, contributing to industry-leading platforms like Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, CentOS Stream, and Fedora.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and developing code for KVM and QEMU, contributing to virtualization and container solutions in layered products, engaging with open-source communities by reviewing patches and providing feedback, developing tests for CI workflows, and collaborating effectively within a distributed agile team.
- • You will join a geographically distributed team of engineers working across Red Hat’s global open-source ecosystem, collaborating with multiple engineering teams and upstream communities to advance virtualization technologies.
- • This role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in system-level Linux development, contribute to high-impact open-source projects, and learn from leading engineers in the virtualization and cloud infrastructure space.
🎯 Requirements
- • Relevant experience in system-level software development for Linux using C or C++
- • Development experience in the Linux Virtualization stack (KVM, QEMU), particularly in areas like memory management, IOMMU, device assignment, or similar low-level subsystems
- • Knowledge of operating systems and computer architecture concepts
- • System level debugging skills
- • Ability to use CI/CD technologies in authoring, building, and automating secure software supply chains
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
