- • As a Software Engineer on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Engineering (RHEL) team, you will play a key role in developing, deploying, integrating, and validating RHEL workloads across major public cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, and Azure. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring Red Hat’s enterprise Linux solutions are robust, secure, and optimized for cloud environments, supporting customers worldwide in their digital transformation.
- • Day to day, you will participate in RHEL development cycles, including bug fixes and feature validation for cloud workloads; contribute to automation framework development; troubleshoot complex issues related to RHEL in cloud environments; engage in technical discussions to resolve problems and plan next steps; collaborate with other engineering teams on joint initiatives; and integrate AI-assisted development and validation tools to improve efficiency and code quality.
- • You will join a distributed, self-organizing team within Red Hat’s RHEL Engineering group, known for fostering inclusive collaboration, valuing diverse perspectives, and empowering individuals to contribute ideas. The team works closely with upstream developers and other Red Hat engineering groups to drive innovation in enterprise Linux and cloud technologies.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Linux systems, cloud integration, and open source development while gaining hands-on experience with AI-assisted tooling, automation frameworks, and multi-cloud environments. You will have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, improve your technical and communication skills, and grow as a engineer within a global leader in open source innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 1 - 3+ years of development experience
- • Proficiency in Python and C programming
- • Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems
- • Experience working with open source projects and tools
- • Interest in open source software development, preferably with a record of contributions
- • Proven ability to interact and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- • Good written and spoken communication in English
