Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join the Data Delivery team at Eqvilentjobs as a Junior Python Software Engineer and become the engine behind one of the most ambitious global data pipelines in the industry. Every day, our systems acquire, transform, and deliver terabytes of data from hundreds of sources on every continent. Your code will directly influence how quickly analysts, traders, and product teams can act on fresh, reliable information.
- • Write clean, efficient, and testable Python code that scales from prototype to production. You will own features end-to-end—from initial design discussions and algorithm selection through unit tests, code reviews, and deployment. Expect to refactor for performance, add observability, and guard against edge cases that only appear when you process millions of records per minute.
- • Collaborate shoulder-to-shoulder with senior engineers who have built low-latency ingestion services, real-time validation engines, and cost-aware cloud architectures. You will pair program, debate trade-offs, and receive detailed feedback on pull requests. Over time you’ll graduate from fixing bugs to designing subsystems that the whole team depends on.
- • Apply rigorous algorithmic thinking to everyday challenges: choosing the right data structure to cut memory usage in half, profiling a hot loop to shave milliseconds off critical paths, or rewriting a batch job as a streaming pipeline to deliver insights 30 minutes earlier. We value computer-science fundamentals and reward engineers who can prove why their solution is optimal.
- • Contribute to the continuous evolution of our data pipelines. You’ll extend existing Airflow DAGs, add idempotent retries, introduce schema validation, and integrate new third-party APIs. When a source changes its format at 3 AM, you’ll help craft a resilient adapter so downstream jobs never miss a beat.
- • Participate in lively code reviews where readability, test coverage, and architectural clarity are non-negotiable. We use pre-commit hooks, automated linters, and type checking to keep the codebase healthy. Your suggestions will shape team conventions and raise the bar for everyone.
- • Join a rotating on-call roster from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM CET every third day. During your shift you’ll monitor dashboards, respond to alerts, and coordinate quick fixes. After each incident we run blameless post-mortems, turning outages into learning opportunities and permanent improvements.
- • Immerse yourself in an open, idea-driven culture where bold proposals are welcomed and tested quickly. Whether you want to experiment with DuckDB for ad-hoc analytics or prototype a Rust microservice for ultra-fast parsing, you’ll find enthusiastic support and time carved out for spikes.
- • Grow rapidly through continuous learning. Budgets for courses, conferences, and certifications are unlimited when tied to team goals. Weekly tech talks, internal hackathons, and access to cloud sandboxes ensure your skills stay ahead of the curve.
- • Enjoy true autonomy and trust. Once you demonstrate solid judgment, you’ll be given ownership of entire services. Lead a migration, champion a new testing strategy, or spearhead cost-optimization—your initiative sets the roadmap.
- • Work alongside a welcoming, highly qualified group of international professionals who celebrate diverse perspectives. Daily stand-ups span five time zones, Slack threads are rich with emoji reactions, and virtual coffee roulette pairs you with colleagues you might never otherwise meet.
- • Thrive in a great corporate culture that balances high performance with human connection. Expect surprise care packages, online game nights, and quarterly off-sites in rotating global cities. We believe friendships amplify code quality.
🎯 Requirements
- • 1+ year of professional or open-source Python development experience
- • Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures with ability to apply them pragmatically
- • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices: automated testing, version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for technical discussions and documentation
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with data frameworks such as Pandas, NumPy, Polars, or DuckDB
- • Nice-to-have: familiarity with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Luigi, or Dagster, and cloud platforms AWS, GCP, or Azure
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100 % remote-first setup with flexible hours and a results-oriented work environment
- • Generous annual learning & development budget plus paid time off for courses and conferences
- • Home-office stipend, top-tier hardware, and cloud credits for personal experimentation
- • Regular on-call compensation and comp days to ensure sustainable work-life balance
- • Vibrant internal culture featuring virtual events, global off-sites, and surprise care packages
