- • The Key Account Manager (KAM) serves as the primary liaison between Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) treatment centers across Atlantic Canada, acting as a trusted ambassador for Takeda’s brand, vision, and values. This role is critical in driving the appropriate utilization of Takeda’s IBD therapies through compliant, evidence-based engagement with healthcare teams, directly supporting optimal patient outcomes and advancing Takeda’s mission to deliver life-transforming treatments.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and executing strategic account plans for key IBD centers and gastroenterology practices, delivering compliant scientific and disease-state education to prescribers and stakeholders, tracking and communicating KPIs against account objectives, leveraging CRM systems to prioritize engagement activities, collaborating cross-functionally with medical, market access, and marketing teams to align on customer needs, conducting market surveillance to gather field intelligence, and preparing and presenting account business plans to management while managing the annual territory budget.
- • The KAM operates within Takeda’s Gastroenterology (GI) commercial team, a dedicated and collaborative unit focused on advancing innovative therapies for IBD and related conditions. The team emphasizes scientific rigor, patient-centricity, and ethical engagement, working across functions to ensure seamless delivery of value to healthcare providers and patients in a highly regulated environment.
- • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in gastroenterology therapeutics, refine strategic account planning and stakeholder influencing skills, gain experience in navigating complex reimbursement landscapes, and develop leadership capabilities in driving business performance through data-driven decision-making and compliant commercial excellence—positioning them for future growth within Takeda’s global commercial organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/BCom) required; advanced degree (MBA, MSc, PharmD) considered an asset
- • Minimum 5 years of sales experience engaging healthcare professionals in pharmaceutical, biotech, device, specialty, or healthcare industries
- • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required
- • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel in-field, including overnight stays as needed
- • Demonstrated experience managing and communicating complex reimbursement topics/issues
- • Proven track record in key account management within biotechnology or pharmaceuticals with strong scientific aptitude and collaboration skills
