📋 Description

• Serve as a Korean into English copywriter for Welocalize, translating and adapting Korean content into culturally resonant English titles for global audiences.
• Generate eight distinct English title options for each Korean source piece, divided across two creative exploration groups to ensure diverse linguistic and cultural approaches.
• Ensure all titles preserve the core meaning, emotional tone, and storyline of the original Korean content while optimizing for natural, idiomatic English.
• Balance cultural authenticity with universal appeal, making titles accessible and engaging to both English-speaking and Korean-speaking audiences.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to review and refine title options, responding promptly to feedback and revision requests in English.
• Leverage deep understanding of both Korean and English linguistic nuances to avoid literal translations that lose cultural context or intent.
• Deliver high-quality, polished copy that meets client expectations for brand voice, tone, and market relevance across international platforms.
• Work independently on a freelance basis with flexible scheduling, managing deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Utilize provided client briefs and contextual materials to inform creative decisions, ensuring alignment with the source material’s narrative and audience goals.
• Participate in occasional vetting sessions with client teams, clarifying translation choices and justifying title adaptations based on cultural and linguistic rationale.
• Maintain consistent quality across all deliverables, adhering to Welocalize’s standards for accuracy, creativity, and cultural sensitivity in multilingual content transformation.
• Contribute to the broader mission of Welocalize by supporting NLP-enabled machine learning initiatives through the creation of high-quality human-generated training data.
• Work remotely with no requirement for physical office presence, coordinating across time zones as needed to meet project timelines.
• Communicate exclusively in English during client interactions, with Korean language support available for internal clarification when necessary.
• Deliver final title options in clean, formatted text ready for client review and integration into global marketing or media campaigns.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Korean into English copywriter or translator with a portfolio of published title adaptations or localized content
• Native or near-native fluency in both Korean and English, with exceptional command of idiomatic expression in English
• Demonstrated ability to create culturally authentic, emotionally resonant titles that bridge linguistic and cultural gaps
• Strong understanding of storytelling, narrative structure, and brand voice in both Korean and English media contexts
• Ability to work independently as a freelance contractor with reliable deadlines and minimal supervision
• Availability to respond to client feedback and participate in brief review sessions in English
