Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end delivery of complex software features for Fortune-500 and high-growth fintech clients, shipping production-ready Java and JavaScript code every sprint and seeing your impact move money for millions of users within weeks—not months.
- • Architect and refactor legacy monoliths into cloud-native micro-services, leveraging Spring Boot, Node.js, React, and AWS to modernize customer-facing applications that transact billions of dollars annually.
- • Pair-program and mentor mid-level engineers across distributed teams in the U.S. and Latin America, raising code quality through rigorous TDD, clean-code reviews, and shared design sessions that turn good developers into great ones.
- • Translate product visions and regulatory requirements into technical stories, breaking epics into actionable tasks, estimating effort in story points, and ensuring each sprint delivers measurable business value.
- • Debug and resolve high-priority production incidents in real time, using distributed tracing, ELK dashboards, and Datadog alerts to restore service and protect customer trust while documenting root causes for future prevention.
- • Champion continuous integration and delivery best practices—automating builds with GitHub Actions, containerizing services with Docker, and deploying safely to Kubernetes clusters with blue-green and canary strategies.
- • Collaborate daily with UX designers, product managers, and QA engineers in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, refinements, retros) to keep user experience, compliance, and performance at the center of every decision.
- • Drive innovation spikes and proof-of-concepts for emerging technologies (GraphQL, event streaming, serverless) that keep Praxent three steps ahead of the financial-services curve and give clients a competitive edge.
- • Contribute to internal tooling and shared libraries that accelerate delivery across all client engagements, turning one team’s breakthrough into every team’s advantage.
- • Uphold security and compliance standards (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, GDPR) by writing secure code, participating in threat-modeling sessions, and ensuring every release passes automated vulnerability scans.
- • Document architectural decisions and runbooks in Confluence so knowledge is never siloed and onboarding new engineers takes hours, not weeks.
- • Represent Praxent at regional tech meetups and conferences, sharing case studies and open-source contributions that strengthen our brand and your personal network across LATAM.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience delivering production-grade software in Java (Spring, Hibernate) and JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React or Angular).
- • Demonstrated ability to break down complex business requirements into clean, testable code and deliver them in two-week agile sprints.
- • Solid grasp of RESTful API design, micro-service architecture, SQL/NoSQL databases, and cloud deployment on AWS or GCP.
- • Nice-to-have: prior work in financial services, PCI-DSS compliance, event-driven architectures, or experience mentoring other engineers.
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100 % remote-first culture—work from anywhere in Colombia (or while traveling) with a stipend for home-office gear and high-speed internet.
- • Flexible hours and unlimited PTO so you can design a schedule that fits your life, not the other way around.
- • Annual professional-development budget for courses, conferences, and certifications plus paid days off to attend them.
- • Competitive USD-denominated salary, performance bonuses, and equity options that grow with the company’s success.
