📋 Description

• Own the annual SOX compliance plan including enterprise scoping, risk assessment, and management of the master testing calendar for financial reporting controls.
• Lead AWS-specific scoping activities to identify in-scope accounts, services, integrations, and data flows that impact financial reporting.
• Evaluate and document AWS controls in alignment with the AWS shared responsibility model and SOX requirements, ensuring compliance across cloud environments.
• Conduct walkthroughs with process owners and technology teams to develop and maintain detailed narratives, flowcharts, and risk control matrices for SOX documentation.
• Execute and review testing of manual, automated, ITGC, and cloud-native controls, ensuring all workpapers meet PCAOB standards and audit readiness.
• Assess the design and operating effectiveness of critical AWS controls including IAM, CloudTrail, Config, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and CloudWatch.
• Partner with Cloud Engineering and Security teams to design, implement, and maintain compliant control structures within AWS environments.
• Identify, analyze, and remediate control deficiencies through root cause analysis, severity determination, and coordinated remediation efforts.
• Develop and maintain executive dashboards and reporting tools to communicate SOX program status, testing progress, and remediation trends to leadership and the Audit Committee.
• Administer the GRC platform, managing workflows, evidence collection, and continuous monitoring integrations with AWS services.
• Coordinate with external auditors to align on testing strategies, respond to audit requests, and ensure efficient and effective audit execution.
• Advise control owners on optimal control design, segregation of duties, and automation opportunities leveraging cloud-native capabilities.
• Maintain alignment of SOX controls with COSO, COBIT, NIST, and CIS AWS Foundations Benchmark frameworks.
• Lead SOX impact assessments for AWS implementations, cloud migrations, system changes, and M&A activities to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Promote automation and continuous monitoring by integrating AWS analytics tools and services into the SOX control framework.
• Mentor junior team members, review deliverables, and ensure consistency, quality, and scalability of the SOX compliance program across all cloud and on-prem environments.
• Maintain deep knowledge of ERP and business platforms such as Workday, Salesforce, Zuora, and GitHub, including their integrations with AWS and impact on financial reporting controls.
• Utilize GRC tools like Workiva or OneTrust and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL to support control documentation, testing, and reporting.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of SOX, internal audit, or Big 4 experience with strong exposure to ITGCs, automated controls, and cloud environments
• Demonstrated experience leading SOX scoping and control evaluations in AWS or cloud-first organizations
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty (SCS-C02) required
• CPA, CIA, CISA, or similar certification strongly preferred
• Deep knowledge of COSO framework, PCAOB standards, and ITGCs across on-prem and cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including IAM, CloudTrail, Config, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and CloudWatch
