- • As a Lead Business Systems Specialist at Ryan Specialty Benefits (RSB), you will be at the forefront of a significant enterprise-wide transformation initiative, playing a pivotal role in modernizing and unifying our core business operations. This strategic position demands a seasoned professional who can effectively bridge the gap between business needs and technological solutions, ensuring seamless integration and optimization across critical functions such as underwriting, claims, distribution, actuarial, finance, and support services.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to partner closely with a diverse range of stakeholders across the entire RSB lifecycle. This includes gathering and meticulously documenting requirements, from the initial RFP intake and marketing phases through to policy administration and claims processing. You will be instrumental in translating complex business needs into actionable technical specifications, including Epics, Features, User Stories, and detailed acceptance criteria, all within an Agile framework.
- • A key aspect of this role involves preparing comprehensive documentation for workflow and system design. This includes defining business logic, mapping data flows, specifying integration requirements, detailing API payloads, and outlining UI behavior. You will lead the solution design for efficient, end-to-end processes, leveraging and integrating key enterprise solutions such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM), Inspire IPAS, Insurity Pro Suite, Coherent Spark, and the Enterprise Data Hub (EDH).
- • You will define and actively support the integration criteria necessary for seamless data flow between various systems. This includes ensuring robust connectivity among the CRM, workbenches, rating engines, policy and claims systems, and data repositories, fostering a unified data ecosystem.
- • A significant part of your contribution will be to document and optimize the four core IPAS workbenches: RFP Intake, Marketing & Placement, Underwriting, and Claims. This involves ensuring these workbenches are perfectly aligned with current business operations and adhere to standardized integration logic, thereby enhancing efficiency and consistency.
- • You will provide crucial support during System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, ensuring that test data is accurately set up and that testing scenarios effectively validate system functionality and business requirements.
- • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with architecture and API Management (APIM) teams to orchestrate cross-system integrations, ensuring that all technological components work harmoniously.
- • You will be a champion for standardization, driving the adoption of consistent processes, rules, terminology, and data flows across the organization. Maintaining alignment with business glossaries will be essential to ensure clarity and reduce ambiguity.
- • Developing reporting requirements, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and data lineage documentation in conjunction with the EDH, Actuarial, and Finance teams will be a critical function, providing valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
- • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including HIPAA, PII, data governance policies, and information security requirements, is paramount. You will embed these considerations into all aspects of system design and implementation.
- • Maintaining thorough and up-to-date documentation is a core expectation. This includes SOPs, design specifications, and training materials, ensuring knowledge transfer and ongoing system maintainability.
- • You will actively participate in governance meetings and change control activities, contributing to the strategic direction and management of system changes.
- • This role also involves a leadership component, where you will mentor junior analysts, foster strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, and interface effectively with external vendors.
- • Finally, you will be responsible for presenting your analyses and proposed solution recommendations to senior leadership, including the COO, CTO, and the Executive Steering Committee, influencing strategic decisions with data-driven insights and clear recommendations.
