Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Lead, Content Library - Americas at Ashby Inc. is a strategic, product-minded role focused on transforming the company’s content ecosystem into a self-reinforcing, high-leverage system that maximizes the long-term value of every piece of content created.
  • • You will own Ashby’s content library as a living product — defining its structure, optimizing its discoverability, maintaining its quality, and ensuring it compounds in value over time through intentional distribution, refresh cycles, and technical excellence.
  • • This role sits at the intersection of content strategy, technical SEO/AEO, product thinking, and systems design — partnering with Content Leads, Product, Marketing, and Design to elevate underutilized assets like YouTube, Ashby Academy, and archival reports into powerful, evergreen growth engines.
  • • You will not create net-new content as a primary function; instead, you will enable the entire content team to achieve greater impact by building the infrastructure, processes, and systems that make their work more discoverable, reusable, and impactful over time.
  • • You will define and evolve Ashby’s content architecture — including URL structure, internal linking, content hierarchy, and metadata standards — ensuring that blog posts, podcast episodes, Talent Trends Reports, conference sessions, and Academy materials form a cohesive, navigable knowledge ecosystem.
  • • You will lead the company’s approach to Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and technical SEO, shaping how Ashby’s unique content (data reports, expert talks, podcasts) surfaces in AI-driven and traditional search without resorting to generic listicles or keyword stuffing.
  • • You will build and operate a continuous content refresh engine — conducting regular audits, identifying outdated or underperforming assets, prioritizing updates or consolidations, and driving execution across Content Leads to maintain a high-trust, high-value library.
  • • You will design and implement an evergreen GTM engine for content — creating systems to resurface and redistribute existing assets based on relevance, timing, market moments, and user intent (e.g., republishing a conference talk during hiring season, surfacing a report snippet in a sales enablement flow).
  • • You will take full ownership of underutilized distribution surfaces — particularly YouTube — defining publishing strategy, optimization workflows (titles, descriptions, tags, transcripts, thumbnails), and integration pathways back to the core content library and Ashby Academy.
  • • You will partner closely on Ashby Academy and future knowledge-based experiences — ensuring educational content is structured, maintained, and scalable, with seamless user journeys between the main site and Academy platforms.
  • • You will help develop new, scalable content systems — such as an expert contributor database, structured knowledge bases, or programmatic content formats — that combine community input, SEO/AEO, and product thinking to create inherently compounding assets.
  • • You will influence without direct authority — collaborating with strong individual contributors across Content, Data, Design, Product, and Marketing to align on standards, prioritize work, and drive adoption of new systems.
  • • You will zoom out to define long-term content strategy and zoom in to fix tactical details — from URL slugs and schema markup to YouTube metadata and internal linking patterns — ensuring consistency and excellence at every layer.
  • • You will measure success not by volume of new content, but by increased engagement, time-on-site, search visibility, content reuse rates, and the lift in performance of existing assets over time.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience owning or managing large, complex content libraries or knowledge systems — including responsibility for structure, maintenance, optimization, and distribution across multiple formats (e.g., blog, video, reports, podcasts, learning platforms).
  • • Deep technical understanding of SEO fundamentals (crawlability, indexing, site architecture, internal linking, schema markup) and hands-on experience implementing improvements that increased organic visibility or engagement.
  • • Strong grasp of Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and how LLMs and AI-driven search consume content — with ability to design content structures that perform well in conversational and generative search contexts without compromising editorial integrity.
  • • Experience building and running content refresh or optimization programs — including conducting audits, identifying update opportunities, prioritizing work, and coordinating cross-functional execution.
  • • Demonstrated ability to partner with creators (writers, designers, videographers, podcasters) to improve distribution and leverage of their work — without creating content yourself as a primary output.
  • • Comfort working in ambiguous, 0→1 environments — defining what “great” looks like for a new function, building systems from first principles, and iterating based on feedback and data.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and equity compensation.
  • • Unlimited PTO with a recommended four weeks per year and active encouragement to take time off.
  • • Twelve weeks of fully paid family leave in the US, with plans to expand internationally.
  • • $100/month education budget, with manager approval for higher-cost items like conferences.
  • • Top-notch health insurance for employees and dependents in the US, with 100% of premiums covered by Ashby.
  • • Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget to support remote productivity and comfort.
