- • As a Lead Network Architect at Humana, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing sophisticated IT infrastructure architecture solutions, ensuring they align seamlessly with the enterprise architecture direction and established standards. This pivotal role involves tackling complex challenges of moderate to substantial scope, requiring a deep understanding of network performance criteria, measurement methods, and capacity planning for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling.
- • You will be instrumental in conducting comprehensive network architecture design, feasibility studies, and cost analyses. This includes developing innovative alternative routing scenarios and optimizing the sequence of network activities to enhance efficiency and resilience.
- • Your expertise will guide executive decision-making on functional strategies, particularly those segment-specific, addressing matters of significant importance to the organization. You will exercise independent judgment and make critical decisions on complex issues, operating with minimal supervision.
- • This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution and transformation of Humana's networks, driving the adoption of next-generation technologies. You will be responsible for the engineering, design, planning, implementation, and establishment of operational and maintenance programs that deliver best-in-class network infrastructure.
- • A key focus will be optimizing all facets of the network ecosystem, including performance, resiliency, availability, resource utilization, and fostering innovation. You will provide expert network design, engineering, and administrative support for both physical and virtual networking devices within our Software-Defined Infrastructure (SDI) environments.
- • Leveraging state-of-the-art networking technologies, including virtualization and Software-Defined Networking (SDN), you will develop and deliver a robust, scalable, and future-proof network ecosystem.
- • You will collaborate closely with various leaders across the enterprise to coordinate network solutions that effectively address the challenges posed by evolving technology, regulatory landscapes, security imperatives, and competitive pressures.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass partnering with internal and external business groups to translate business objectives into effective technical solutions.
- • You will architect and implement the network fabric for internal Data Centers and Private Cloud platforms, supporting multiple software-defined network overlay technologies.
- • This includes planning, designing, and deploying new Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure and connectivity, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- • You will oversee and perform the administration, configuration, and monitoring of all network equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.
- • A critical aspect of the role involves supporting the elimination of existing data center dependencies to enable cloud-based and fastest-path access, modernizing our infrastructure.
- • You will also be responsible for the architecture and implementation of end-point device connectivity, ensuring reliable access for all users.
- • Designing and implementing remote site and campus network technology to support advanced SD-WAN implementations will be a key contribution.
- • Enhancing internal company wireless connectivity to ensure robust and secure access for all employees.
- • Managing WAN circuit topology and technical integration with telecommunications carriers.
- • Providing L4 troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues and outages to minimize downtime.
- • Defining, documenting, and enforcing network standards to ensure consistency and maintainability across the infrastructure.
- • Actively increasing your knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and staying abreast of the latest industry trends.
- • You will also play a vital role in team mentorship and support, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- • As a Team Lead, you will manage vendors and service providers, including negotiations, licensing, and ensuring adherence to service level agreements and support contracts.
- • You will drive the consolidation or replacement of legacy technologies with newer services and hardware to mitigate cybersecurity and resiliency risks and promote continuous improvement.
- • Supporting the management of the Network Operational Expenditure (OpEx) budget and providing recommendations for future budget forecasting and planning.
- • Communicating project status updates to management and senior business leaders as required.
- • Researching and recommending new technologies and solutions to meet evolving business needs.
- • Designing new solutions, defining standard solution configurations, and developing and maintaining technology roadmaps.
- • Documenting and updating all network infrastructure and supported business processes to ensure comprehensive knowledge management.
- • Performing capacity and performance planning to ensure the network can scale with business demands.
- • Ensuring seamless integration with related infrastructure engineering efforts.
- • Maintaining alignment and integration with information security requirements.
- • Defining and developing operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure network performance and effectiveness.
- • Integrating disaster recovery and business continuity plans into the network architecture.
- • Continuously improving your knowledge and skills through ongoing learning and development.
- • Assisting in motivating and growing the Network Engineering team, fostering maturity, agility (NetDevOps), and scalability, and helping to define capabilities and processes to address tactical and strategic network needs.
