  • • Amplify Education, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Professional Learning Specialist (Lead PLS) with a strong background in K-12 education, specifically in literacy, to join our Professional Development (PD) team. This full-time, remote position, based on the East Coast, offers a unique opportunity to make a significant nationwide impact on educators and students by ensuring the successful implementation of Amplify's innovative literacy programs.
  • • As a Lead PLS, you will operate as an expert coach-practitioner, embodying the highest standards of professional learning delivery. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate high-quality professional development sessions for teachers and school leaders, focusing on Amplify's literacy curriculum. This involves not only delivering engaging and effective training but also ensuring that educators feel confident and equipped to implement our programs, ultimately driving student success.
  • • You will also play a crucial role in developing and mentoring a cohort of approximately 20-40 contractor PLS. This coaching aspect involves training, developing, and supporting these individuals to deliver exceptional professional development throughout the year. Your guidance will ensure that customers receive PD that leads to tangible shifts in teacher practice, increased and effective use of Amplify products, and positive, measurable impacts on student learning outcomes.
  • • To excel in this role, you will first become an expert in a suite of Amplify literacy programs. This involves developing and maintaining deep knowledge of key concepts within the program and its associated professional development offerings. You will participate in paid training to become a certified Professional Learning Specialist, if you are not already certified, ensuring you are fully equipped to represent Amplify's educational philosophy and pedagogical approaches.
  • • A significant part of your role will be to model excellence in the delivery of professional learning. You will be expected to deliver at least two days per week of remote and onsite professional development to approximately 30-40 educators throughout the year. This requires a keen understanding of customers' unique contexts, enabling you to tailor professional development to meet their specific needs and challenges.
  • • You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between classroom practice and product development by sharing observations of customer engagement with Amplify products. Your insights into key strengths and challenges observed in the field will be invaluable to our product teams, informing future program enhancements and development.
  • • Continuous professional growth is a cornerstone of this role. You will actively engage in internal professional development, including receiving observation, feedback, and coaching from peers and leadership to continuously strengthen your facilitation practice. You will also be responsible for tracking and completing all session logistics deliverables in a timely and efficient manner.
  • • Beyond direct facilitation, you will contribute significantly to the development of our contractor PLS cohort. This includes actively participating in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes for new PLS throughout the year. Your coaching will be guided by best practices, such as observation and debrief sessions, modeling effective techniques, facilitating peer practice, and providing constructive written and live feedback.
  • • You will regularly review post-session survey data for your cohort of PLS, typically daily during peak seasons (May-September). This data analysis will help identify trends in customer feedback, allowing you to provide meaningful coaching that fosters growth in PLS knowledge, skills, and mindsets, ultimately leading to a stronger educator experience and improved student outcomes.
  • • Based on your observations, survey data, customer feedback, and reflective conversations, you will create and implement targeted learning plans for individual PLS and the cohort. Maintaining clear and consistent communication with relevant stakeholders regarding the needs, goals, and challenges of your PLS cohort is also a key responsibility.
  • • As a valuable member of the Professional Development team, you will support special projects and contribute to the continuous improvement of our programs and PD offerings by sharing crucial customer and PLS feedback with key internal and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • • This role requires a commitment to travel, which is considered an essential function. You can expect approximately 50% travel time annually, potentially fluctuating based on business needs, with higher travel percentages during peak seasons (e.g., summer). Travel may include overnight stays and various modes of transportation, and you may be required to travel with minimal advance notice. A valid driver's license is mandatory, and you must be willing to drive. Travel expenses can be covered via a corporate card or reimbursed after initial payment, with compensation for travel time included.
  • • You must have reliable home internet capable of supporting video calls and a quiet, professional space for remote professional development delivery. A background check will be required upon selection.
