- • As a Lead Software Engineer / Tech Lead for Growth at Maximus Tribe, you will own the technical strategy and execution for the company’s customer acquisition engine, directly impacting revenue growth by optimizing the signup-to-checkout conversion funnel across all telehealth protocols. This role is critical because Maximus operates in a competitive wellness and hormone optimization market where conversion efficiency—not ad spend—drives sustainable growth, and your leadership will ensure experiments are both scientifically rigorous and aligned with long-term user quality.
- • You will split your time 50/50 between hands-on engineering and team leadership, managing a small group of engineers while shipping full-stack features in Ruby on Rails and React, designing and analyzing A/B experiments using Amplitude, and maintaining experimentation infrastructure that supports data-driven decision-making across the growth team.
- • You will partner closely with a Senior Product Manager and Senior Designer to own the end-to-end acquisition flow, from initial user interaction through checkout, including plan pricing, payment integrations (Stripe and Klarna), and product recommendations, ensuring every experiment balances conversion gains with M1 retention guardrails.
- • The Maximus engineering team is distributed across North and South America, operating in two-week sprints with tight collaboration between product, design, and engineering, deploying to production multiple times per day using GitHub Actions, Docker, and cloud infrastructure on AWS/GCP via Aptible.
- • You will drive the adoption of AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Devin to increase team velocity, coach engineers through regular 1:1s, code reviews, and pair programming, and help build a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- • In your first 90 days, you will lead the migration to Klarna for BNPL across all protocols; within the first two quarters, you will launch a new activation satisfaction survey to strengthen retention tracking and build cohort-level experiment tracking to enable deeper insights into user behavior and long-term value.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience leading a team of 4–8 engineers as a tech lead or engineering manager, with direct responsibility for hiring, coaching, performance management, and retaining technical talent.
- • Demonstrated success in designing, shipping, and measuring growth experiments in a subscription-based product, including optimization of signup funnels, checkout flows, pricing, and plan architecture using analytics platforms like Amplitude.
- • Strong proficiency in full-stack development with Ruby on Rails 7 and React 18/TypeScript 5.4, including the ability to write production code daily, design event-sourced systems, and integrate payment platforms such as Stripe and Klarna.
