- • Lead the Growth engineering team as a Tech Lead Manager, splitting time 50/50 between management and hands-on coding to own the lower acquisition funnel from flow start through checkout across all Maximus protocols.
- • Drive conversion rate optimization by designing and shipping protocol-level A/B experiments on signup flows, checkout, pricing, and product recommendations using Amplitude, while maintaining an M1 retention guardrail to ensure user quality.
- • Build and scale a high-velocity engineering team in a mission-driven, profitable telehealth company with 8-figure ARR, doubling year-over-year, backed by top-tier VCs and focused on compounding learning through data-driven experimentation.
- • Ship full-stack features in Ruby on Rails and React, develop technical strategy for acquisition, mentor engineers through coaching and code reviews, and integrate AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Devin to accelerate delivery.
- • Partner with product, design, and data engineering to instrument cohort-level tracking, optimize payment platforms (Stripe, Klarna), and establish experimentation infrastructure that supports rapid, reliable iteration.
- • Contribute to a remote-first, Americas-distributed team operating in two-week sprints with multiple daily deployments, where your impact is directly tied to monthly top-line growth and long-term customer value.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience leading a team of 4-8 engineers with direct reports, including coaching, retention, and career development.
- • Demonstrated success shipping and measuring growth experiments in a subscription product, specifically optimizing signup funnels, checkout, pricing, and plan architecture.
- • Strong production-level coding ability in Ruby on Rails and React/TypeScript, with willingness to continue hands-on development; JavaScript (Node) or Python also acceptable.
- • Ability to design rigorous experiments, including sample sizing, metric selection, and navigating trade-offs between conversion and retention.
- • Familiarity with event-sourced architectures or similar patterns where state is derived from event streams.
- • Regular use of agentic AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Devin) in daily workflow and ability to guide team adoption.
