- • Provide legal support to the financial and physical commodities trading activities in the Asia region, ensuring compliance with regional and global legal standards while enabling F500 clients to execute complex derivatives and commodity transactions with confidence.
- • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of trading and risk management documentation, including framework/master agreements (such as ISDA, CSA, GMRA) and bespoke transactional contracts for physical commodities (power, gas, metals, agriculture) and financial derivatives, with a focus on precision, enforceability, and risk mitigation.
- • Collaborate closely with front office traders, risk management, compliance, operations teams, and external law firms to deliver coordinated, practical, and timely legal solutions on cross-border and cross-product matters, acting as a trusted advisor in high-stakes, fast-moving trading environments.
- • Proactively identify, assess, and escalate legal, regulatory, and reputational risks by monitoring evolving jurisdictional regulations (including EMIR, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, and APAC-specific regimes), contributing to internal policy projects, and ensuring alignment with global legal and compliance frameworks.
- • Support internal initiatives aimed at improving legal workflow efficiency, standardization of contract templates, and knowledge sharing across Axiom’s global legal talent network, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance service delivery.
- • Operate within a hybrid remote work model, primarily based in Singapore with flexibility to work remotely, while being prepared for occasional on-site client engagements as required by specific F500 clients in the APAC region.
- • Contribute to Axiom’s mission as a global leader in alternative legal services by delivering high-caliber, on-demand legal expertise that drives client efficiency, growth, and regulatory resilience in dynamic commodities and derivatives markets.

🎯 Requirements
- • 4-8+ years of transactional legal experience with a strong focus on drafting and negotiating derivatives documentation, including ISDA master agreements, credit support annexes (CSAs), collateral arrangements, and related financial contracts.
- • Proven experience in commodity trading contracts, particularly for physical commodities such as power, gas, metals, or agricultural products, with derivatives forming a substantial portion of the candidate’s background.
- • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions — including front office, risk, compliance, and operations — in fast-paced, high-volume trading environments, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- • In-depth knowledge of applicable financial regulations and legal frameworks impacting derivatives and commodities trading in the APAC region, including familiarity with local regulatory bodies and reporting requirements.
- • Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical, business-friendly solutions.
- • Hybrid work arrangement compatibility, with the flexibility to work remotely from Singapore while being available for occasional on-site client requirements.
