- • As Legal Counsel at Relevance AI, you will play a critical role in enabling the company’s rapid global growth by providing practical, commercially focused legal support that accelerates deal velocity while managing risk effectively. You will be a trusted partner to Sales, Operations, People, and leadership teams, ensuring that legal processes empower rather than hinder business momentum in a high-growth AI environment.
- • You will negotiate and review complex customer agreements, including enterprise SaaS Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), renewals, and upsells, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and legal compliance. Your work will directly support the company’s ability to close deals with industry leaders such as Canva, Databricks, and Activision Blizzard.
- • You will assist with privacy, data protection, and security matters across customer and vendor relationships, contributing to compliance with evolving global regulations and helping manage sub-processor contracting requirements in line with international data flow standards.
- • You will help develop and refine legal playbooks, templates, and scalable processes to reduce reliance on external counsel and increase the efficiency and consistency of the in-house legal function as the company scales.
- • You will partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, People, and leadership teams, participating in customer legal discussions where required and providing fast, pragmatic, and risk-aware guidance that enables confident decision-making across the organization.
- • You will contribute to the continued development of a modern, high-impact legal function within a category-defining AI company, gaining exposure to cutting-edge technology transactions and helping shape how legal supports innovation in the agentic automation space.
- • You will operate in a hybrid work model based in Sydney, Australia, with three days per week in the office, collaborating with a globally distributed team backed by top-tier investors including Bessemer Venture Partners and Insight Partners.
🎯 Requirements
- • Approximately 4 to 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) from a strong commercial law firm and/or in-house environment
- • Hands-on experience negotiating enterprise SaaS agreements, including MSAs and DPAs
- • Strong commercial judgement and ability to balance speed with appropriate risk management in a fast-moving environment
