- • As the sixth attorney on Coefficient Giving’s legal team, you will report to the General Counsel and help navigate complex legal questions arising from innovative, precedent-setting philanthropic work, ensuring legal compliance while advancing the organization’s mission to maximize impact with available resources.
- • Day to day, you will provide legal advice to program and operations teams, conduct due diligence on international grants, draft and negotiate custom grant agreements, develop compliance systems for donor reporting, train staff on legal risks (e.g., ADA, lobbying, data privacy), support corporate compliance tasks, advise on government relations and political grantmaking, and help shape projects by assessing and communicating legal risks.
- • Coefficient Giving is a philanthropic funder and advisor that has directed over $5 billion in grants since 2014, supporting high-impact causes in global health, AI safety, farm animal welfare, biosecurity, housing, and more, with a mission to help others as much as possible using evidence-based, cost-effective giving.
- • In this role, you will develop expertise in niche areas of law such as nonprofit, political, international grantmaking, and philanthropic funding models, while building creative legal solutions that enable efficient, low-barrier grantmaking and directly contribute to saving lives, improving animal welfare, and advancing existential risk mitigation.
