This is not your typical administrative legal support role. We are looking for an individual who embodies a "driver" mentality – someone who takes complete ownership of projects from inception to completion, possesses the grit to navigate ambiguity, and consistently seeks innovative solutions without relying on pre-existing manuals.
• As a Legal Operations Associate, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our legal department, with a strong emphasis on leveraging technology and automation to enhance our capabilities. You will be instrumental in maintaining our corporate compliance, protecting our brand, streamlining internal processes, and managing offshore teams to ensure flawless execution of critical tasks.
• Your core responsibilities will include:
• **Own Entity Compliance:** You will be the primary point person responsible for maintaining the "Good Standing" of all our corporate entities across the United States and Canada. This involves independently managing all necessary filings, reports, and responding to state-specific requests, ensuring we remain compliant and operational in all jurisdictions.
• **Protect the Brand:** You will actively monitor our trademark portfolio to identify and address any potential infringements. This includes drafting and initiating cease-and-desist workflows, safeguarding Jerry.ai's brand integrity and intellectual property.
• **Run Tight Audits:** You will lead and execute comprehensive compliance audits across various critical areas, including sales call recordings, marketing opt-out processes, and Do Not Call (DNC) registries. Our commitment is to not only meet but significantly exceed consumer protection standards, and your role will be crucial in upholding this commitment.
• **Automate Everything:** A key aspect of this role is to embrace and implement automation. You will utilize AI tools, low-code platforms, and other technological solutions to transform manual, repetitive legal tasks into scalable, efficient workflows. Your objective is to build robust systems that minimize manual intervention and maximize operational efficiency.
• **Direct VA Operations:** You will manage and oversee our offshore Virtual Assistant (VA) teams, ensuring that critical tasks such as agent licensing and ongoing compliance activities are executed with precision and adherence to all regulatory requirements.
• **Process Improvement & Scalability:** Beyond specific tasks, you will be encouraged to identify inefficiencies in existing legal processes and propose, develop, and implement solutions that enhance productivity, reduce risk, and support the company's rapid growth.
• **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** You will work closely with various internal teams, including product, engineering, and operations, to understand their needs and provide legal support that is both compliant and business-enabling.
• **Knowledge Management:** Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal legal knowledge bases and playbooks, ensuring that best practices and critical information are readily accessible to the team.
