📋 Description

• As an Estonian Linguist at Lilt Production, you will play a vital role in enabling global communication by delivering high-quality, culturally nuanced translations that help international brands connect meaningfully with Estonian-speaking audiences. Your expertise ensures that content not only conveys accurate meaning but also resonates emotionally and contextually, supporting Lilt’s mission to break down language barriers through the fusion of human skill and AI innovation.
• You will translate and localize content across key domains including IT, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Life Sciences, adapting tone, terminology, and style to suit each context while maintaining linguistic precision and cultural relevance. This involves working with diverse source materials such as software interfaces, marketing campaigns, legal documents, financial reports, and scientific texts, ensuring consistency and quality in every deliverable.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and post-editing machine translation output, conducting quality assurance checks, researching specialized terminology, and collaborating with project managers and AI trainers to improve translation models. You will manage your own workflow independently, set realistic deadlines, and use Lilt’s platform to track progress, submit work, and receive feedback in a seamless, remote-first environment.
• You will contribute to the continuous improvement of Lilt’s AI-powered translation systems by providing expert linguistic feedback that helps train and refine models, directly impacting the quality and scalability of multilingual AI services used by enterprises, governments, and developers worldwide.

🎯 Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Estonian, demonstrated through fluent comprehension, expression, and cultural intuition in both written and spoken forms.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional translation experience, or a degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a closely related field, with verifiable project history.
• Proven expertise in translation and localization, particularly within IT, Marketing, Legal, Finance, or Life Sciences domains, with ability to handle technical, regulatory, and creative content accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to linguistic quality, including consistency in terminology, tone, and style across projects.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote, self-directed environment, meeting deadlines without supervision.
• Familiarity with translation tools and platforms (such as CAT tools or TMS) is a plus, though training will be provided on Lilt’s proprietary system.
