- • As Manager, Data Engineering at Smartsheet Inc., you will lead and mentor a team of data engineers and operations specialists to build scalable, reliable, and secure data platforms that power enterprise AI and analytics use cases. This role is critical to enabling Smartsheet’s mission of uniting people, data, and AI to move businesses forward by eliminating execution silos and turning strategic vision into measurable impact.
- • Day to day, you will coach team members to leverage their strengths, define and govern data platform solutions for scalability and cost-efficiency, develop and maintain CI/CD/CT pipelines, review designs for deployment safety and performance, facilitate cross-team collaboration with Product and Engineering, ensure regulatory compliance for AI applications, and drive engineering excellence initiatives while aligning data strategy with business goals.
- • You will join Smartsheet’s India Global Capability Center, a best-in-class hub leading global innovation after rapid scaling. The team delivers product innovation and enterprise capabilities that accelerate global growth, profitability, and scale, operating with a culture of empowerment, diverse perspectives, and nontraditional paths where impact comes from those who care deeply and challenge thoughtfully.
- • In this role, you will grow your leadership and technical expertise in enterprise data platforms, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP), Databricks Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture, Unity Catalog, Snowflake, data governance, and AI/ML infrastructure. You will achieve measurable impact by enabling scalable, secure, and compliant data solutions that support Smartsheet’s intelligent work management platform and drive enterprise AI adoption.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10-12 years of overall experience with at least 2 years in end-to-end people management
- • Experience building and maintaining data platform systems ensuring scalability, reliability, efficiency, and security
- • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with AWS preferred
- • Experience with Databricks Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture, Unity Catalog, Snowflake, and data governance for data quality, freshness, and integrity
- • Proficiency in Python and SQL, and modern software engineering practices including Kubernetes, CI/CD, IaC (preferably Terraform), observability, monitoring, and alerting
- • Legally eligible to work in India on an ongoing basis
