- • Lead the end-to-end field integration and testing of Shield AI’s autonomous aerial systems, including V-BAT and X-BAT aircraft, ensuring seamless deployment in operational environments.
- • Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and field operations teams to define test protocols, validate system performance under real-world conditions, and document all integration outcomes.
- • Plan and execute field test campaigns across diverse geographic and environmental conditions, including urban, rural, and austere terrains, to validate system reliability and mission readiness.
- • Serve as the primary technical liaison between field teams and internal R&D, translating field feedback into actionable engineering requirements and system improvements.
- • Develop and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, checklists, failure analyses, and operational manuals used by field operators and support personnel.
- • Ensure all field integration activities comply with military and civilian safety standards, regulatory requirements, and Shield AI’s internal quality assurance protocols.
- • Train and mentor field technicians and integration specialists on system operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures for Shield AI’s Hivemind Enterprise and Hivemind Vision platforms.
- • Monitor and report on key performance metrics during field deployments, identifying trends, anomalies, and systemic issues that impact mission success.
- • Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of spare parts, tools, and support equipment for field integration events.
- • Travel extensively to customer sites, test ranges, and operational theaters to oversee integration activities, conduct on-site diagnostics, and provide real-time technical support.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving military operational doctrines, threat environments, and emerging technologies to align Shield AI’s systems with user needs.
- • Present integration findings and test results to internal leadership and external stakeholders, including government and defense partners, with clear, data-driven summaries.
- • Lead root cause analysis for field failures, driving corrective actions and design iterations to prevent recurrence and enhance system robustness.
- • Manage timelines and resources for field integration projects, ensuring on-time delivery of tested and validated systems to end users.
- • Act as a subject matter expert on Shield AI’s autonomous platforms during customer demonstrations, site visits, and operational briefings.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation, Systems Operations, or related technical field
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in field integration, systems testing, or operational deployment of autonomous or unmanned systems
- • Proven track record of leading field test campaigns in military, defense, or high-reliability industrial environments
- • Strong understanding of UAV/UAS platforms, avionics, and mission-critical software systems
- • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including to remote and hazardous locations
- • Experience working with U.S. Department of Defense contractors or government agencies
