- • Oversee daily branch operations for a Home Medical Equipment (HME)/Durable Medical Equipment (DME) location, including inventory control, equipment maintenance, and patient delivery logistics.
- • Hire, train, evaluate, and retain staff to ensure all required competencies are achieved and maintained, including ongoing learning and annual competency requirements.
- • Proactively identify and resolve operational issues while developing improved methods to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction.
- • Collaborate with Avera@Home HME leadership team on annual budget preparation, including revenue and expense projections for the branch.
- • Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, physicians, and health systems to support business growth and patient retention.
- • Partner with leadership to ensure consistent implementation of policies, procedures, protocols, and standard work across the branch.
- • Monitor and manage branch KPIs, profit and loss (P&L), and execute strategies to improve financial performance and profitability.
- • Ensure full compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, FDA, DOT, JCAHO, HQAA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- • Participate in state, regional, and national industry activities while fostering collaborative relationships within the Avera@Home HME network.
- • Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills in all interactions with staff, patients, referral partners, and leadership.
- • Perform all personnel management functions including interviewing, hiring, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and coaching employees, addressing complaints, and resolving workplace issues.
- • Uphold Avera’s mission, vision, core values, and social principles, promoting compassion, hospitality, and stewardship in daily operations.
- • Adhere to Avera’s CARE standards (Communication, Attitude, Responsiveness, and Engagement) with sincerity and enthusiasm.
- • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and employee information.
- • Work effectively in a team environment, coordinating workflow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient operational environment.
- • Comply with all safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards including those from CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA as applicable.
- • Work primarily during daytime hours, with availability required for weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed to support patient care and operational demands.
